Title: AS Multigame LED Help

Maybe someone can help me here...

I am trying to hook up my Volcano buttons to the Arcade Shop board as it provides "pulsing" so the LED's will blink (according to Steve at AS).  I currently have them wired successfully direct to +5vdc with a 330ohm resister in line.  Essentially the positive of the LED goes to the resister which then goes to the +5v lead...the negative goes to ground.

Now,  according to that diagram I THINK I am supposed to wire from +5V to 330ohm resister to LED to proper wire from harness of AS board.   So i try hooking the way it was (+5v to 330ohm to positive of LED) then remove the negative from ground and wire it to proper wire of AS harness...I get nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong... the voltage flows from the power source through the led and resistor into the arcadeshop board... thats why they call it "sink"  because its not providing current its allowing it to flow to ground... the placement of the resistor is also irrelevant.

Did I read you right... did you say you already tested the volcano buttons with by wiring them directly, not through the arcadeshop board?

Yup...I remove the cathode from the AS board and attach it to ground it works fine (albeit just always on)...move it back to the AS board and I get diddly squat.

Sounds like the arcadeshop board is not living up to its end of the deal... not sinking the current... is there a setting in the operator settings menu to turn this feature on?? or is it just supposed to work?

I find no DIPS (the only switch on the board takes it in to service mode),  and no soft dips for it...

EDIT: BTW,  notice how on the diagram it shows player 1 and 3 tied together...do  you think that would be required?

electrically... doesn't seem like that would make a difference whatsoever... since the only way the led can light is if current flows to ground... which technically is the same point.
