No prob.
This has been cancelled.
-
Hrm.
When you said you were looking for the fonts, I didn't realize you wanted to Totally COPY off the exact artwork.
Especially considering I use that "A", as pretty much the identifying icon of my project. And I took many months styling my entire logo so all the elements fit into each other and had a look that was distinctly it's/my own.
I'm flattered, but I'm not sure I appreciate it.
-
Well, you don't have to Cancel it entirely..
It's not like I own the fonts, and they're definitely good choices. I would say if you've decided on the "Mame Assault" name, and you like the red color scheme, go with it! Try thinking up some ideas and brainstorm on a style all your own.
I'll look for the fonts for you and post them here when I find them.
EDIT:
You can find them here:

I followed OJ's artwork thread and he's being surprisingly magnanimous considering the amount of time he put into this design.
-
Nah, not at all... There was no malice intended on anyone's part so it's all good
-
Yeah, sorry about that. Just got a bit too excited with the whole concept. Given that I have only learned how to use Illustrator on Sunday and managed to produce that I am quite happy but I do need to think of my own ideas.
I've been thinking for a while now and I have come up with a few ideas:
1. The Dream Machine - following a Scooby Doo style theme for the machine
2. Demitri's Revenge - following a Vampire Savior theme
3. The NinjaCade
4. MAME Invaders II (am aware this has been done, hence the II)
5. MAME Raid
6. Operation MAME

dale_coop was kind enough to publish the artwork he used, I host them on vectorlib, see Scooby borne artworks (http://vectorlib2.free.fr/ScoobyBorne/)
and he also made a paper model of the cab that you can grab from the above artwork repository

LOL. Maybe I should check with the Copyright office before I think of any other names........
Maybe The Arcade Project, similar to the book, Project Arcade. ???
-
Well it's not like that guy owns the copyright to Scooby Doo either..
From your new names, I personally like "The Dream Machine" and "Demitri's Revenge
Although, if you wanted to keep the "Mame Assault" name and the red color theme, you could probably do some really sick artwork with a "Soviet Revolution"-looking scheme using that Nyet font...
-
You know what, that sounds like a great idea!!! I really like the sound of that!! I am going to get working on that as soon as I get home!
THANKS...... YET AGAIN!! ;D
Do you know of any sites that would have any vector files of Soviet stuff, eg stars, sickle, etc?
-
This place seems to have alot of good quality vector work, although you'll have to pay for the ones you want: http://files.vector-images.com/pdf/soviet.pdf (http://files.vector-images.com/pdf/soviet.pdf)
You'll find some good fonts here: http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=205 (http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=205)

Always remember that Arcade art should be eye catching and dynamic, so it's good to also look through as many actual arcade marquees and sidearts as you can. Take the ones you like from both themes (Arcade and Soviet), and try to integrate them into a composition that makes sense to your name.
It's also very easy to get too stuck in the "Soviet" and forget the "Arcade" (especially given how strong the art and identity is of soviet-era poster art), so always keep your creative juices free but purpose driven.
