Title: WG 25K7193 lin coil question
Post by: hemiguy on March 28, 2008, 07:47:29 pm
Long time lurker, first time poster.. I was in the process of installing a cap kit for this monitor and I happened to break this "lin coil" coil on my monitor board. I was attempting at the time to remove an old cap that was glued on and in the process broke this.

Anybody have a clue what it's for and where I might be able to find a replacement? I tried searching around on google and on Bob Robert's site. I'm guessing it's called something else but I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to monitors. By the way the only number I could find on it was 2813-01 if that helps at all, and it's on a P538 board.

Thanks

Your model number isn't right. Do you mean 25K7193?

Most likely.... that's what the P538 chassis is listed for.

hemiguy -  Look on the chassis itself and find an L number near the coil that got broken. (should be like L1 or L2 etc)

Yea that's what I meant, sorry. The number next to the coil has L2 on it.

It broke in half. I was thinking that if it was broken all the way through that it wouldn't function properly. The wire wrapped around the coil is fine, it's the core that's broken. I don't know much about how these function, but I was assuming they are similar to what the horizontal width coil is. From what I've read on that is once the core is cracked or broken it should be replaced.

Now that I have a part number I'm guessing I'll have to call Wells Gardner to order that part? I couldn't find a page on their site to order this particular part. The only parts I could find were related to neck boards and chassis boards.
