Title: Metroid II remake
Post by: KenToad on March 20, 2008, 04:26:24 pm
I just saw the news on DS Fanboy.

http://www.dsfanboy.com/

I also downloaded the tech demo and it is incredible.  I really hope this guy finishes the project, as I never really dug the original "Metroid II: Return of Samus" on the Gameboy.

Here's a direct link to the download page, since I'm sure the above link will get outdated, once more news gets posted on DS Fanboy.

Have any of these remake projects ever been allowed to finish?

Everyone always gets really excited, then  Nintendo (or insert other company here ______ ) threatens legal action, and it all goes away.

I don't think I have ever seen it played out differently. :(

Beats me.  I guess they should finish the project first and then release to the public.

Or maybe the trick is just to get noticed, get threatened, and land a job?

Not that I think that's likely.

It has happened.  See: Ms. Pac Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ms._Pac_Man#History).
