In the west there's a store called Cal Ranch that sells DIY pet vaccines cheap. Anybody know of any other stores that sell them cheap (particularly stores that might exist in South Florida). My cats are awful at the vet and it costs about 20x more to have a vet do the immunizations. I really don't want to take them to the vet unless I have to.

I didn't know that was an option.
My cat is special and needs to be injected with valium. Do they sell Ketamine too?

I've never heard of a store selling DIY cat immunizations, so I have no help there, but if you do end up having to take your cat to the vet, then you should call around to the local vets and see if any of them have a day of the week where vaccines are discounted. I know of several different vets around here that do this and it's saved me a ton of money, although it may just be a southern California thing.

I can almost guarentee a negative on the Ketamine. Kids get it and get high on it - Special K.

And not only call around for the vet, but also call the local humane society and/or the local animal control. They usually have vouchers for discounted spade/neutering and vaccinations.

Hmm . . . I'm surprised it's so uncommon. I've given cats shots quite a few times. It's super easy to give in the scruff of the neck (just gotta make sure you jab really hard to poke through the skin all the way. Some have to be given in the leg, and that makes me a little more nervous. Luckily I've only ever had to give ones that can be done on the back of the neck. Just pinch a bunch of skin, stick in the needle, jam down on the plunger.
P.S. IIRC, a full set of cat vaccines at Cal Ranch is like $7, including syringe, just to give you an idea of how much money you save by doing it yourself.

That is a great deal, although I believe it was only $15 to have my local vet do it on one of their discount says.

Farmers supply stores carry alot of stuff. My Brother-in-law ran a feed store and he always carried wormers, vaccines, etc.

That makes sense, since that's largely what Cal Ranch is. I'll have to check it out.
