Title: Game Room Name
Post by: FrizzleFried on February 26, 2008, 11:13:12 am: I am toying with a name for the game room...

My wife used to call it the "Man Cave". But as someone pointed out, that sounds pretty gay...no...real gay, not that I really give two shits as I am married, but I imagine to new guests it would look a little strange.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

Ho-Land Arcade or InDaHo Arcade

Any ideas? Thoughts?

Here in Boston the main morning radio program pushes the "Mantown" concept really hard... and it always comes across just slightly too homoerotic. Of course they say over and over that they invented the concept, too. ::)

Why does it need a name? Are you going to make a sign or something?

Why Ho? Is that going anti-man cave or something?

After some time, I just ended up calling it "The Arcade" unofficially, but I'm still on the lookout for that perfect name. There are/were some arcades around here named The Tilt, The Gold Mine, Block Party, 49th St. Galleria, Time Out, Boondocks, Nickelcade, among others, and I've come to find that I like the names rather than the mashups.

I love the Astro City arcades, even if just for the name. ;D

Maybe something like Free Play, Press Start, or High Score would sound arcadey enough without sounding forced.
