I was wondering how I get the newer Golden Tee games to work in MAME. Right now when I try them, I keep getting an ITS modem error which I cannot bypass. It says to press the player 1 button over and over no matter how many times I press it. I also press the F2 button and can't seem to get past the screen that comes up.
I can play the older Golden Tee games without a problem. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get the newer ones to work.
Thanks in advance.

I would like to know this as well.

Are you referring to the Fore series?

That's why I posted. I'm kinda confused too. I thought MAME only went up to Golden Tee Supreme Edition Tournament (v5.10) from 2002.

I'm using version 0.119 of MAME.
I cant' for instance use Golden Tee 2K Tournament Edition for example.
I am not in front of my arcade unit at this time. But once I am I can give you a complete list of what versions of these games do not work due to the "modem" error.

Have you tried to simply press F3 once the game started to reset emulation? I have Golden Tee 2K Tournament Edition working and all I did was get the modem error and then press F3. Once hitting F3 it seems to work fine.

That worked for me also. You may try hitting F2 for service menu, going to Tournament, then to Tournament Operator Adjustables. I said Yes to "Disable ITS access" and "Disable Modem Connection".
When I first launched the game, I played a round, then got the modem error. It was up while I pulled the keyboard out. Either I hit a button or it moved back to the main menu by itself as I was pulling the keyboard out of the cabinet. I was reaching for F3 so I am not exactly sure. :dunno
I have played a few more rounds, let it sit at the main menu, and then played again. No more modem issues....yet. ;)

---steaming pile of meadow muffin---... I tried doing F2 to see what the menu options were in this game. Now I can't seem to get the game to run now. Each time I start it goes straight to the menu now and I can't seem to get by it. I deleted the nvram for the game and it still does it. :(

Hold down F3 until it takes you back to the main menu. Make take a few times to get it right and holding it down for 5-10 seconds, but it will eventually work. Trust me, this is the voice of experience.... I tried ALOT of things to get this done....

Well, I finally got the later Golden Tee games to work. Mainly the Tournament versions of the games, including the 2K versions.
Here's how I did it:
After pressing F2 (admin MAME button) in the game and disabling the "ITS" and "Modem" features in the "Tournament" menu, I tried exiting with the player 1 button and it would keep on staying with the menu. Exiting the menu (even though it doesn't exit) is key because it saves the settings of the disabled stuff that you just did.
Then I pressed F3 to restart the game. It keeps going back to the menu. I did this several times (pressing F3) and even held it down and nothing, it kept going back to the menu. So I exited the game completely and then executed the game again. Voila! Success!
Hope this helps!
