Title: So. My house almost burned down Tuesday.
Post by: Glaine on February 01, 2008, 01:01:43 pm
OK, as usual I had everything typed up perfect and then the forum ate my post so I gotta retype it all.

Got a call from mum about noon Tuesday saying our neighborhood was on fire.
This first article features a pic of the hay bales from my front yard. We sell hay for a side business and the hay and all of the field was burned down. We're all OK, and the house and the barn are fine so I've got nothing really to complain about. In fact, I still got a laugh in when I got home and asked the folks "So, anything new today?"

It's just sad that not everyone was so lucky.

The house with an above ground pool in the video in the Paradise section lives down the street from me.

Wow.  Happy to hear you came out alright.

A few months ago I was vacuuming the carpet in my bedroom upstairs when the vacuum cleaner caught fire and then the rug caught fire.  Thankfully, I put the fire out before it really did any damage but it kind of startled me a bit.  Since then, I have bought five or six fire extinguishers since I had none when the fire happened.   :o

As bad as it's gonna sound, I know you all will understand when the first things I thought were "Great, I just bought new DJ equipment" followed by "Oh noes! Ma Neo-Geo!"

If you hit the back button and try to come back, the text fields are all reset. I've had that happen a few times. My little girl likes messing with the touch pad on the laptop and I've retyped many posts.

Yup. My main problem was that the pics were too big, so it wasn't letting the post go through and then the message was erased. Ihad to resize em and retry the post around 5 times before I had it the way it wanted it. Thats why all the pics are thin like that.

There is a strong chance that is a browser issue and not one with the forum app.

Are you the cause of the fire?  I'm under the impression that hay can spontaneously combust when stacked improperly.

Naw, I just insulted my friend so bad that the whole district got BURNED! (If anyone on a criminal investigation board is reading, I didn't do it, I just have really bad taste).

No, I was getting an error that my total picture file size was too large, so I kept shrinking the pics till they were small enough files.

It can... compost piles too, but since they're made of wet crap, they usually don't flare up the way haybales do.
