Title: Flush Trimming Lexan?
Post by: FhM on January 16, 2008, 05:20:37 pm
Can you flush trim stuff like this or will it just crack horribly or am I just best belt sanding the edges down? I am just thinking ahead for when I do my CP.

Yes you can.  I did with my lexan topped cp and it was fairly complex.

Yes, it cuts almost like butter with a router...best results when there's as little material to trim as possible, I cut my CP overlays about 1/8" oversize with a finishing blade on the table saw, then do the flush trim on the router table.

Also what the recommended minimum thickness for the lexan? The supplier I am looking at does 0.75 - 1.5 mm.
