Hello I'm psik0tiks (Erics) fiance and due to a work incident he passed away last week. He loved this place and I'll miss yelling at him to stop reading this forum and come to bed. And I'll miss his (projects) all over the house from the small arcade machine on my counter to the car cut in half in my garage. Thank you and god bless
-
You have my deepest sympathies! I'm sorry for your loss.
-
Wow. That's horrible to hear. :'(
Post from time to time in his memory if you can. He would have liked that I think.
-
My condolences and best wishes.
-
Condolences. He will be missed and a part of him will always live on in his posts here in our community.
-
i was wondering why we hadnt heard from him for a while. my condolences and i hope you have lots of support from family and friends. he seemed like he lived his life fully which a lot of people never do. a great loss to society i'm sure.
danny.
-
Thank you for your comments. I have lots of family support and good memories. I see why he came here I have been staring into the screen for some time now reading some things. And on the lighter side of things I would call him a menace to society. I'm sure the neighbors aren't going to miss him playing Janis Joplin as loud as he can and using power tools at 8 in the morning. He lived his life to the fullest extent possible he even had it in his will that we have a party instead of a funeral and that's the most depressing part of it is that people like him have to have life cut so short. I'll try to post once in awhile. Thank you very much again for your kind comments.
-
very sorry to hear this. You have this forums deepest sympathies. Anytime we lose a member is a great loss. Condolences go to you and your loved ones.
-
Sorry for your loss, hopefully you can spend more time thinking about the fun memories than the sadness. psik0tik seemed like a good guy and he will surely be missed here. Thank you for letting us know about this, as silly as it may seem in an online forum, when somebody disappears you often wonder what happened to them, usually assuming they just lost interest in or time for the hobby of the forum, it's sad that isn't the case this time.
-
So very sorry to hear -- our deepest condolences and warmest wishes go out to you.
-
I am so sorry to hear this news. My condolences to you and your family.
-
My deepest condolences to you and your family. We will all miss him, and as mentioned, thank you for letting us know about it. A lot of us saw psik0tik post around here and got to know him, and he will definitely be missed.
Stay strong and keep your spirits high. You and your family are in my thoughts.
-
I'm really sorry to hear about your loss -- my condolences to you and the family.
-
my deepest sympathy to you for your loss. Please remember all the good times you had together, that may help you get through this rough time.
-
Condolences.... :(
-
Deepest condolences for your loss, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

That is just dreadful news. My condolences to you. Thanks for finding the strength to come here and post. Must be difficult too.
-
You have my up most condolences. May you find the strength in the coming days. With deepest sympathy,

Wow - there really aren't any words that help with something like this.
I really enjoyed reading about his "literal" driving cab project.
His influence will be missed and you have our deepest sympathies and condolences.
-
Condolences.... :(
Me too. :'(
=J
-
What kind of work did he too?
=J
-
Wow. Just wow. I'm so sorry for your loss.
If you are OK with it (which I might assume you would be as you brought it to our attention) I think a memorial note should be put on the front page. I'll pm Saint.
-
I'm so sorry for your loss (and this community's). I hope you can take comfort in knowing that your post has caused me (and probably many others) to step back and appreciate what little time we all have in this world.
-
Condolences....
-
What kind of work did he too?
=J
He worked for Exxon, but that's all I can tell you.
-
Sorry to hear this. He will be missed. :(
-
Sorry to hear the news...
It's not unmoddable...it's just a challenge at the moment. Saying a console is unmoddable is like saying there will never be bacon flavored water....and there will be.
Bacon water...good stuff.

Definitely made me take a step back. Well said.
-
Wow, I'm very sorry and genuinely shocked to hear about this. Thanks for taking the trouble to let us know. It's the first time I've heard of a BYOAC member passing away. It certainly throws things into perspective.
I'd also like to offer my condolences for your sad loss.
-
Holy crap. All condolences to you and everyone who was part of his life. I like that guy. :(
-
I have one more thing to share and then I'm off to New York. I want to share his eulogy because this is one of the sites he listed to list it on.
Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things we can go through, so much more if it isthe man your going to marry. No words can express what I am feeling right now and I’m sure only time can help me accept the fact.
Eric lived in a world beyond what we consider normal life. HE lived life more than anyone that I have ever met and that is what drew everyone to him. HE will be missed by more people that I can count and made more friends through his loving and caring nature than anyone can ever imagine. He had the most incredible inner child that screamed out to embrace him and he followed it.
He was a creator, he would rather build it then have someone build it for him.
He was an inventor, he wanted something that only he had instead of what everyone else had.
He was caring, he would give the shirt of his back if thought it would make you smile.
He was trusting, He believed that everyone had a good side to them even though they may have done wrong.
We had the privilege of time with him before he passed and he wrote something to tell everyone that he knew:
First off I would like to be buried with my car and my arcade room lol. I don't know how to say goodbye to all I love and charish. I don't know what is going to happen when I die and I've come to terms with it in the last hours of my life. I will miss most of all my fiance the one who put up with me and if there is life after death I have no idea how I will survive in the afterlife without her. I want her to know that I love her more than life itself and that there was never a woman that could've treated me me better than her. I would also like to say goodbye to all my friends and family. I wish I could've seen your faces and spoke to you before this because I have so much to say and so many hugs to pass out. I would also like to say goodbye to all of my friends in the various online friends that I have met on the internet. I know it sounds foolish calling people that I have never met my friends but they were just as important to me as my friends in real life. Out of my friends online I'd like to thank saint. He gave me more projects to do and let me relive my childhood of video games and the smell of hot arcade machines that I missed so much. And to all my friends in IRC that helped me through all my problems I had with various projects over time. Also I would like to thank superstar for being the best friend online i could imagine. the only person that would travel to Las Vegas at 3 in the morning to meet me for a arcade auction and drive back to Florida in a broken down Uhaul so I could have an original pacman and tron. Most of all I will miss my family the ones who loved me more than life could give and who never doubted me in everything I did. I love you all more than life itself and I will love you even after I die. Like is stated in my will I would like a party instead of some boring funeral. I want alcohol and loud music and everyone to dance and have fun. I knew the business I was in was dangerous so I set aside money for the occasion. Plus being big oils ---smurfette--- for so long should cover any other expenses. I love you all and I'd write more but I'm feeling very tired. Again I can't say enough how much I truly love and respect everyone Thank you and goodbye to everyone.
Love
Eric
aka Psik0tik
That was the last thing he wrote before he died and he couldn't express more how he had so much more to say. But he would need eternity to say all he needed to say to all his loved ones.
thank you so much for attending
-
Wow, what a tough thing to deal with, I can't begin to imagine what you are going through. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. Wish I had an opportunity to know him in "real life" but from what I read from him here he seems like a great guy. So sorry to hear about your loss.
-
Wow. The opportunity to say goodbye is a priceless thing. You never really think about that in your day to day life.
-
Wow... what can I say but I'm very sorry for your loss. Take care and all the best...
-
Actually one more thing. I have the book that the guy that runs this place made. He had it signed by alot of pople from all the game coventions he went to and he wanted it given back to it's creator. The book is in bad shape lol but it has a signature on every page. I don't know who I'm suppose to give this too or who to write so hopefully you guys can help me. It says on the cover build your own arcade machine and please if you could help me find an address to this guy I want to try and send this to him. Thank you guys again
-

Can you let us know what happened? What did Eric do that was so dangerous?
I imagine it is an awful gift to be able to write your own eulogy.

IIRC, he recently went to Alaska to work on an oil rig.
-
Truely a tragedy.
-
Me and my wife send our deepest condolences to you and yours.
-
Deeply sorry for your lose and you have my condolences.
-
Although we never contributed in each-others' threads, I'd like to share my deepest condolences.
What he wrote about seeing the members of this forum as friends, I can really understand that feeling and share it. The beauty of this is that it spans the world. The lesser side is that you may never ever meet in real life. It doesn't really matter, I think we feel bonded together by our shared passion for this hobby.
From The Netherlands, I wish you all the best and strength.
(please apologize any strange English, it's not my native language)
-
I shed a tear for your loss. You are an amazing person to post here, thank you for conveying his message. God bless.
 to psik0tik and his memory
-
:'( this is very sad, i wanted to send you my deepest condolences.
few month ago "killercabs.com" lost one of there member too :(
this is very sad :'(
-
My heart goes out to his friends and family, and especially to you. I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you the best, from across this digital divide.
-
I told my wife about this, and how Eric had requested that the community know about him and how he felt about us. I think that she understands a bit more about why I come here often. I consider many people on here friends of mine. I know the true names of some on here, but many I don't and it doesn't really matter. Level42 says it pretty much the best. You don't have to meet someone in person to be friends. This site is kind of like having a whole bunch of penpals, you know?
-
Always shocking to hear something like this. Didn't have any dealings with him but, through thick and thin, we all share a kinship on this board. My condolences.
-
My better half and I send our deepest condolences. Your post has really touched us both and made us think very differently about "tommorrow".
-
Terrible news. He, and his contributions here, will be missed. Deepest condolences to those who were close to him.
-
Condolences to you and yours. He will be missed. Best wishes to you, his family and friends in the future.
-
My deepest condolences and I stickied this message for a while so that we can all appreciate how truly brief life really is.
-
Our prayers are with you and your family and thank you for sharing, it was very moving.
-
My heart goes out to all his family and loved ones.
-
Condolences to you and yours :-\
-
My condolences.
I will always remember Eric's driving "cab" project. He was clearly a talented, creative and inventive individual.
-
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't really know the guy, but read some of his posts including one of the last about his dealings with the ---smurfette--- who slipped on his sprinkler head. I am sitting here tearing up like some sort of little girl...
...rest in peace bro...
-
So who's got the materials?...Because the way I figure it, we've got one long ladder to build.
I wish your families nothing but the best.
-
My deepest condolences.
Im sorry to say I did not know him, but I did read some of his threads. Very talented.
The world has lost a good soul, and Heaven has gained one.
May God be with you and send The Holy Spirit to guide you in these trying times.
Also, I love Janis Joplin too.. "Me and Bobby McGee" was played loudly on my stereo many many times.
Take care, and please find peace in knowing we are all thinking of you.
-
I'd like to add my condolences to the masses here. I never really got to know him since I'm pretty new here, but I can tell he was well loved both on-line and off. His last message told quite a bit about him. I can tell he had great humor, and great love. The world has lost a good man. :'(
-
My condolences to you and all your "analog" friends/relatives/aquantances over the loss of Eric. Thank you for the strength you've shown in letting us know about his passing. I'm so sorry :'(
-
Im so sorry for your lost. I never knew psik0tik but I after reading his last words I know he was a remarkable man. I could really feel the love eminating from his heart. I am deeply touched. God bless you
-
Well he was buried last night in Alaska. As his request we had a huge party instead of a funeral. He was buried there because he loved it there. there was close to 200 people there so you could imagine after all the beer there was alot of yellow snow outside. If anyone makes it out to fairbanks Alaska you can see his grave near the pipeline where he can see the northern lights. I can't begin to thank you all for your amazing comments about him. Like I said I'll stop in once in awhile and drop a line or two. I'll be moving out to Alaska next month so I'll take some pictures for you guys. I don't want to leave him out there alone :) Thank you again
-
I'm terribly sorry. I lost someone unexpectedly earlier this year and it's difficult to cope with. psik0tik seemed like a really great person. I hope you are holding up okay. If my wife died it would leave an empty spot in me that would be very very difficult to fill. I hope it does not take too long to feel whole again. The empty feeling is physically painful and sometimes takes your breath away. I hope you can fill it with distraction in the short term and in time the wound will heal, leaving only the scar.
-
My deepest condolences. Thanks for posting and letting us know. We all just assume we have all the time in the world...
-
Nothing I can add or say to what has already been said. I am not a huge poster but a big reader and I enjoyed Eric's posts. I have made many friends on line and in some ways I feel closer to them then the ones just down the street. His words brought tears to my eyes and I have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. To Eric you are probably reading all this....look down upon us from high and put a good word in for all of us with the #1 Gamer will ya? Take care brother and may God Bless you and all who love you!
Spock

Like arcadefever said, another really nice bloke passed away from the killercabs forum, and not too long ago someone passed away from the djforums.com site (both of which I only read).
It's all a bit much. I keep expecting psik0tik to reply as himself and say he was just having a laugh at us.
-
God Bless, we will keep you in our prayers
-
Loosing someone its not very nice, here in mexico we like to remeber our loved ones by thinking the best out of them , maybe you can do something in hes honor. Good luck and my best wishes for you, im pretty sure hes playing the best games with the Lord, or maybe the Lord needed someone to build arcades like him. :)

Sorry to hear about the loss of your partner. Thank you for sharing with all of us here.
Couldn't think of a better place to be buried than Alaska. Please don't forget to check in with us when you get there. I stayed in Fairbanks for the summer of '97. 5 mile China Hot Springs Road, also near the pipeline.
-
My deepest condolences to you, your family and his. :(
-
Think I might have said hi or something at one time or another to him.
I hope you and your family can heal and my prayers are with you.....
-
God bless you and your family.
Sometimes life can just be so unfair. I understand your pain.
But at least now he can visit the greatest Arcade in the Heavens where you never need tokens.
-
I would like to express my condolences. I don't know what to say besides that I wish everyone the strength, that is needed. May he rest in peace.
-
So sorry to hear we lost a member to a tragedy. I can't begin to imagine what you're going through, and I want to thank you for taking the time to post here, and sharing your loss. These posts will remain for posterity even in the site's archives, much like Eric will remain in your memories forever.
My condolences.

It is always sad when someone passes from this mortal coil..
It is even sadder when that person has given to so many without even knowing they have done so - this thread is a clear expression of that.
On a personal note - I will sadly miss the old bugger..
People - please take this sad moment to reflect on those that are still with us during the upcoming festive season. It is so easy to forget to tell those important people that we love them. It costs nothing but when they are gone, the moment is priceless.

My deepest condolences.... :'(
He will be missed by all.
-
My deepest condolences to you and your family. Thank you very much for keeping us informed of his passing. God bless you.
-
Condolences from myself and the wife are also in order. Rest in peace :)
-
I almost couldn't believe this when I read it on the front page....
I'm deeply sorry for your loss and you have my condolences.
-
I want to echo the responses here, Thank you for your participation here. It is important to all of us. He will be missed but not forgotten.
-
I'm in shock....I couldn't believe it when I read that on the front page just now. :'(
My wife and I will certainly be praying for you. I wish I knew what else to say, but honestly I'm just at a loss for words.
-
My condolences on your loss.
-
Sorry for your loss
-
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm at a loss for words..
Hang in there.
Dave
-
I've never read something so sad and so brave at the same time. Hang in there, you have my condolences and will be in our prayers.
-
I'm very sorry, I have not been here in a while and it is sad to come back to something like this. He seemed like a unique soul and a brave person in his last hours. Cherish the time you had as we all will hug our loved ones a little tighter tonight.
-
I am truly sorry for your loss. His projects were definately an inspiration. We are fortunate that he directed you here to share the news.
It is worth noting that although Eric had a moment to express where his final words should be heard, most of us will not be so lucky. If any of us passes away suddenly, do our next of kin know where and how to log in to notfy the various communities we are part of? I know mine doesn't. Time for me to fix that.

I'm extreamly sorry to hear about your loss. He was vrey well liked here in the forum and will surely be missed by all.

When I read the front page, I thought it was a joke or an error. The guy who was willing to risk sleeping in the proverbial dog house over a a car (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=71710.msg737637) is gone?!
My vocabulary is far too small to properly express my sadness and disappointment that a man with such a unique scope on his arcade projects is no longer with us.
-
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I don't think I've ever crossed posting paths with him, but nonetheless it's a horrible tragedy & my prayers are with you and your families. God Bless.
-
I know it's been said numerous times before me, but I can only offer my condolences during this time. I did not know Eric, but I have a lot of respect for his perspective on life and his willingness to lay everything out to us forum members as he did. Total props to him and I trust that our Maker has him close.
-
Wow.... I'm so sorry. I hope you and his family are doing okay. My heart goes out to you all. :'(
-
God bless you and your family in this difficult time. Please know that he was greatly appreciated around here and will be missed. Our thoughts are with you and the family.
-
Never met Eric but by the sound of it he was admired and respected by the BYOAC community. My condolence!
-
Sorry to hear this.
-
I've been away from the site for a while, so seeing this comes as a shock to me. At first it didn't quite sink in, but now it's starting to feel more real after I've read over the entire thread. This is very sad news, and I'll miss seeing Eric's posts on the forum when I pop in from time to time. He personally helped me out more than once, and we had some nice exchanges.
I'll be up in Alaska in August and I'm sure my thoughts will be with you guys, just as they are now.
-
I'm sorry for not keeping up with you guys like I said I would. I lost the password to his account and had to dig through a lot of notebooks to find it.
I'd like to say that things are going well but "big oil" as he put it hasn't been so giving. They are making up reasons and stalling the fact that they have to pay.
Meanwhile I'm swamped in bills left behind. Here's an interesting story, Bank of america stills has him listed as being alive and since we have a loan through them they hadn't received payment in awhile. When I talked to them previously they had told me that it was ok that insurance and other factors had taken care of it. So I get a letter in the mail stating that our home we own in Florida now has a lien placed upon it and we have to pay the remainder of the bill which for privacy sake I'll give you a number of 2000.
OK when we got the loan it was for 500 but since it has been sitting there collecting late fees and back payment it went up over 150%. Now if told you the real number you'd have a heart attack. Now I need to sell the house but guess what they put a lien on it. And I had been reading about how hard it is to sell your home right now but that is a different story :)
So now since bank of america thinks he is still alive I have to go and deposit money in his account like I was a family or friend. I don't get how this whole system works. So until big oil pays I'm just screwed. Otehr than that I love Alaska and I get to be close to him. I was offered a job by his company and they got a big finger and a no thank you. It's freezing here and I have to plug my car in but the scenery is amazing and the people are wonderful. I don't see myself ever leaving.
And here's for the biggest news. 3 weeks after his death I found out something amazing that when I think about it makes me cry to this day. I am pregnant!!!!!! I have a little psik0tik growing inside me. It will be a boy and I have saved as much arcade stuff as I possibly could. I have boxes and boxes of nintendo, sega, Arcade pictures and posters and I plan on turning the nursery into a sort of arcade theme. I will send you guys pictures when I get the room set up. If you guys have any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.
Also the half car was sold last week, someone out there is going to finish it and hopefully they post you guys some pictures on here. You guys are the sweetest and nicest I know and I will keep posting here from time to time now that I have the password again. Thanks you guys!

Congratulations! Please keep us posted!
As for BOA thinking he's still alive, you'll have to submit his death certificate to them to get that straightened out. You may want to consult with a CPA and/or an attorney on the other stuff. It'll cost a little, but it'll save you many headaches.
-
Thats horrible that BofA and the oil company are giving you problems, but thats great news that you are pregnant. Congratulations.
-
congrats on the little psik0tik on the way. Still sad for your loss though...
sorry to hear of your troubles with BOA and big oil....
