I want to make a small cab with nothing but neo geo games. I already have an xbox that is not being used. I want to run an emulator for the neogeo games and im probably only going to have about 30- 50 games on it. Metal slugs, KOF, samari showdowns, turfmasters, shock troopers, and a few others. I love the neo geo games, they are some of the best party games around , and my favorite thing about them is i can build one control panel and use it for all the games, and i dont need istructions because they are in game.
My concerns and questions are. Do i softmod or hardmod( i would really like to just softmod) . Do i need a new harddrive or is the standard xbox hard drive big enough for just the neo geo emulator and games. I really dont have a lot of time or the tools, is there anybody on the boards that could do it for me. And if so could they go ahead and install the emulator with the games and get it running for me, or would that be easy to do myself.
Also what emulator should i run. I want something with a decent looking frontend that is easy to navigate and the emulator just needs to run the neo geo games. I have no experience with modded consoles or console emulators.
Any suggestions offers and such would be great. Thanks.

Sorry if i said something i shouldnt have but ive searched the forums and found multiple posts talking about people here that mod. Tell me what part was innapproriate and i will delete so i can at least get some of my questions answered. Thanks.

xbox runs all neogeo games 100% full speed and standard hard drive is enough for all neogeo games. fbaxxxpro is the best neogeo emulator for xbox. check www.xbox-scene.com forum and emulator section. they have full guide on how to get it up and running !

Asking for games to be installed for you is likely what saint is talking about as far as piracy.
I have a softmodded xbox in an arcade cabinet, it works out well. I did it primarily for the boot time -- by the time the screen is warmed up your ready to go. You'll want to get a nice skin for your neo-geo emulator, and if that's all you're doing, you could make the emulator the front end instead of having another front end for that. I believe you can set it up so it boots into the emulator but if you quit it goes to the front end as well. Snaake can probably hook you up on that one, I hear he does good work. Best of luck.

Thanks. When i read over i thought that might be the reason. I just wasnt sure how to get games on their after its softmodded. Do i just put a disk in and rip it or what. Snaake if your are monitering this, are you interested in softmodding and installing the emulater for me, no games of course. Just a neo geo emu,and maybe a slik skin. Thanks.

you are supposed to transfer whatever through FTP/computer or you can copy from disc too.
I can make the xbox boot directly to the neogeo emulator and make neogeo skin . check pm

You don't need to Soft Mod it or talk about pirated roms. All you have to do is buy the game for the Xbox and you are set.

i want that and neoturfamsters, shock troopers, super spy, king of fighters, Samsho, super dodge ball, and a lot more, i think i counted 48. I need it softmodded.
