Title: Sanyo 20EZV Dark
Post by: ncflagg on September 26, 2007, 03:34:51 pm
I have a Playchoice-10 cabinet that I've been working on. I did a cap kit on both monitors to get rid of screen shrink. At the same time I expected the cap kit to fix the darkness problem. The cap kits fixed the screen shrink but not the darkness. (Yes I've adjusted the Screen, Brightness/color pots) I'm continually finding with my other cap kit installations that brightness never seems to be affected with a cap kit. I keep reading that cap kits DO help many brightness problems. Is this the case or are failing tubes usually to blame?

The tube in the Sanyo seems pretty sharp otherwise. Any ides on fixing the brightness?

Sub brightness? mmm Maybe not. I've twisted every pot I could find. Any idea where it is?

The sub brightness control is one of the trimpots located on the monitor MAIN board not on the small adjustments board.

I adjusted the sub brightness and it made a marginal difference. Could the B+ affect brightness? How do I check the B+?

Then you might have a weak tube. Connect it to a rejuvenator and test it's condition.
