Post by: Calathea on September 05, 2007, 11:31:24 am
Can anyone tell me what the minimum specs would be for a LCD montitor, maybe about 18-19 inches.
Whats the minimum contrast and response they would need.

What application are you going for? A big cabinet, a cocktail, a bar top? The size will depend on what you want kind of cabinet you use.

I have to admit that I personally am not a big fan of how LCD's look with old games. PC monitors aren't that great either, but the few LCD's I've seen were much worse. Not sure if there are mame filters that can try and correct this?

viewing angle is a biggie,
ignore most everything else

higher contrast ratio monitors tend to have dimmer screens, i'd ignore them if you would rather a more genuine arcade monitor

I've a samsung 971p, its rather spiffing and took much research to get!
