NAVL quoted me $345.00 to ship a cocktail machine with a 19" monitor in it from Columbus, Ohio to Springfield, Illinois. Does this seem a bit excessive, or is that about right?
-
That's about right but you can ship two machines for that price.
-
I don't know why so many sellers are set on NAVL. I hate using them. Pilot Air and a lot of other carriers are about half the price. Screw NAVL. People are like sheep, so they just keep using the same old crappy carrier.
-
I think a lot of people have no idea how to go about finding a trucking service so they use what they know.
-
And there is something to be said (not by me, but still something to be said) for not having to crate and haul a machine to the terminal. NAVL makes it super easy for the seller (or appears to ... I have never had to ship a cabinet), which I suspect is why so many refer to them.

this topic is reminding me , That i will have to pickup a Battlezone to forward air Miami very soon ;D
shipping was $239 ...

People like NAVL because you're supposed to call up this one particular person who works there who knows the proper rates and item codes for arcade machines (and thus you get the best price).
So it sounds high to me, unless it's Door to Door?? (as opposed to terminal to terminal which is way cheaper).
Here's a link discussing the person to call:

NAVL is door to door and the price is the same for two games as it is for one (since it is weight based).
IIRC the woman's name is Michelle and she does price games specifically.
-
Well, all I know is that when I've gone with Pilot Air I've been able to ship a game in for $225 or less every time but I've passed on NAVL users since it's always over $300 (usually around $350). I don't mind driving 10 miles to the airport to save myself $100 (or more).

Just an FYI, I used Team World Wide (www.teamair.com) and they shipped the machine for $155.00 door to door, and that included packing.
