Post by: sanbagger11 on August 13, 2007, 06:05:52 pm
Hi all

Ihave a touchscreen jukebox, just figured out how to hack a keyboard and got the coin mech working. Now my problem is I want to use this software instead of what Im using, I love the look of the jukebox. I have downloaded it and get fatal error no files selected. Could someone tell me step by step how to get this to run. Thanks alot

Forgive me for asking the obvious but have you went into the "docs" subdirectory and read the "readme" file in there?

If you are using a touchscreen, please note that at this point I only have the touchscreen working in DOS and Windows XP.

Michael is right, the answers are in the docs, but I'll be the first to admit my docs aren't organized.

In order to get up and running quickly, please edit the jukebox.ini file and set the SongPath to point to your music collection.  You may set multiple song paths, so if you have more than one folder of music,
set SongPath1, SongPath2, etc.  Please note that if one of your SongPaths is in a subfolder of another SongPath, songs will get indexed twice and updates may not be stored properly.

The first time the jukebox is run, it will index all of the song files. For large collections, this step can be time-consuming, as each song must be completely loaded into memory to be searched for identification
information.  This information is saved in a song database, so on subsequent runs, the jukebox only needs to verify the existence of the file.

That should get you started; look through jukebox.ini for more information, it's actually pretty self-documented.
