the motion control is real great and all but they really need to show graphic wise what the wii is capable of. Before anyone stabs me in the eye with a wooden spoon and says if you want graphics get a 360 thats not what i am expecting.
Even gamecube games have shown better graphics then the wii has right now. in top 15 game lists for this system most sites show 12 emulated games and only 3 wii games. I want to see what the wii is really capable of. i dont expect xbox360 like effects or ps3 either. but cmon show me something...

August 21st will be your best bet for that, but from what's been released, I think Nintendo lied to us when they said its graphical capabilities were on par with the OG Xbox.

what happens august 21st. the old xbox graphics is more then adequate for me. If they can sqeeze graphics like that out of the wii i would be more then happy with that.

August 27th (http://wii.ign.com/articles/801/801171p1.html) is Prime time! I can't wait for this game to come out.
-
The Original Xbox's graphics were only ever marginally better than GameCube's. There's really no doubt that the Wii is capable of that level of graphical output.

According to Game Informer, that's when Metroid Prime 3 comes out.

Yeah, from a few analyst's reports, the wii is 1.5 times as powerful as the xbox.

On a side note, I'm worried about prime 3. The original was fantastic, but part 2 seemed like a watered-down re-hash. I hope they step things up a notch this time and no, the new wii controls are not enough to save another lack-luster sequel. Doesn't mean I won't be in line to get it though. ;)

The IGN guys feel the same about Prime 2 versus 1, and they're absolutely raving about this new one, which they've been able to play quite a bit of apparently. It ain't definitive, but it's a good sign at least.

I'm a little worried that Metroid Prime 3 will end up being more like Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS. I hated Hunters because it focused more on the FPS aspect of the game rather than exploration and puzzles.
-
I really liked Metroid Prime but eventually gave up after that giant Pirate kicked my teeth in 5500 times.

Maybe its just me but I thought Excite Truck has really good graphics. On par with most driving games for the ps2 and close to xbox. Just have to pick the right game.
Don't forget how long it took for good looking games to arrive on the ps2. Hopefully in a year or two, there will be good looking games on ps3/xbox 360. Not that they aren't the best available, but imagine if someone could use all those cores.

On par with most driving games for the PS2 and close to Xbox equals "really good graphics" to you? WTF? Those are five year-old systems! The Wii has been out for a matter of months.
As far as good looking games coming in a year or two . . . again, I'm not sure what you're talking about. MotorStorm was a launch title and it's beautiful. Seriously . . . look at the difference between MotorStorm and Excite Truck. I mean, games will continue to look better and better, of course, but both of those systems are light-years ahead of Wii right now in terms of horsepower and it shows. It shows right now. We don't have to wait a couple of years to see the difference.
