looks like its possible. it would be cool to play dragons lair on the gp2x just for the coolness factor. doesnt matter how crap it would be to play (",)

meh...
I'd rather see Matt put some time into the ALG games, instead of re-hashing DL...
-
The ALG games are going to be supported by MAME anyway. If Matt wanted to he could have sorted the ALG games via the amiga emulator. Howard Casto was digging a bit on the Daphne message board about it some time ago which was productive (and kinda funny) to some extent....
My only guess it was either too hard for him to do, or there wasn't too much interest, since the titles of the games have already been completed for the home market anyway.
When you are coding it for free, it has to be something that you enjoy.
His efforts are better put to use getting Firefox up and running stable, before playing around trying to get DL working on a crap underpowered handheld. :laugh2:

theres the thing. "something that you enjoy". maybe hes bored to tears with firefox. the gp2x might be an interesting challenge. also, mame on gp2x is roughly around the v36 build. while the gp2x mame guys are adding games here and there from later builds, it may not be worth doing dragons lair.
northern games, this is a gp2x:

i bought it just for mame and its tv out function. but i also enjoy gameboy, sega megadrive and snes on it as well

I just got an XDA Orbit from work and I tried out CultMame. It uses the .34 version of Roms and it works great with sound. Ok the XDA is a little steep in price but its so cool to play and so tiny, especially asteroids while waiting at the supermarket checkout. The XDA Orbit has a mini tracball so centipede and tempest totally rocks and plays at 60fps. Get Cult Mame if you have a Windows Pocket PC.
