You should try it.  Talk about hardcore graphics.  It's like being there or something.

He may need to update his video card's drivers first.

I think you're overestimating the age of enthusiasts a little. Sure, at least half should get it, but there are a fair few number of people who mostly played arcade games like Gauntlet, TMNT, DD, SF2, MK, etc... People who never needed to keep a penny handy for when the tape wouldn't load properly unless you jammed the lid open the tiniest bit first. Oh, that tape deck was sooooo cooolllll...

I definitely had plenty of pennies handy. I had to save them to get a 1541 drive, so I didn't have to deal with those tapes anymore.   ;)

Newspaper route paid for my C64. Tape drive came at christmas later (imagine using a computer with no storage device! ACKKK). The the newspaper route paid for a 1541 drive. What a glorious day that was! (I remember paying almost $300 for it. YIKES!)

I still have a C64 and 2 1541 drives in the attic.  I might have to get them down and see if they still work.

We had a TRS-80...and a game called Hautned House...although I was fairly young and could never get out of the kitchen...I guess some things never change, huh?

I was SO disappointed the first time I encountered an "NPC" in Zork and he wouldn't hold an intelligent conversation with me. I thought computers could simulate "AI" and do that!

Those Grues were devastating.

Don't stumble into any dark places.  You won't be eaten by Grues.
