They released some pics of the gh3 controllers this week and I've got a feeling that wii owners are going to win on this one with a lower price point. By looking at the pics, it appears that the wiimote plugs into the guitar, which means that the controller itself is just a add-on. This means the controller just needs simple usb-like guts and no bluetooth or tilt sensors. In theory, that means it could sell for as little as 30 bucks, as opposed to around 60-70 for the 360/ps3.
No real point to this post, I just wanted to mention it before the press conference when everybody finds out the real pricing.

Very good hypothesis. I agree. It really cant make much without much needed since the Wii Mote will do most of the work. I do think the slot looks kind of hokey, but its not that big of a deal.

Well g4's coverage showed that the guitar will have removable faceplates, so in theory at least you could buy a 360/ps3 faceplate and put it on, thus hiding the slot.

I was quoted $80 for GH3 + guitar when I pre-ordered the 360 version at Gamestop-that's not 1000% set in stone, but they tend to avoid raising the prices on pre-orders as much as they can, bad press and all. If that's the case, it puts the bundled price point for the guitar at about $20.

I could just about see the wii guitar being thrown in for free then.
