I just recently setup my pinball and its loading games ok but i'd say about 90% of them when you get them loaded the pinmame screen says " factory settings restored clear bookmarking" and then i cant add money , use the flippers, or even start game? any ideas why? is this a rom problem?
I downloaded my roms from aj's site and some files seemed a bit smaller then they should have been.
oh also 1 last thing everytime you click escape then quit editor the visual pinball window opens with that tables drawing on the editor is there a way to just escape completly and not have to close that window everytime as well?

I think there is a FE out there for Visual Pinball. The FE would take care of the issue when you hit ESC.
As for the ROM's, I am not sure. I know my Visual Pinball AND PinMame both expired and I had to get new versions to get it working again.
But since you see the tests being run yuo obviously have a different problem. Have you hit F3 or 'END'? 'END" opens and closes the coin door. F3 restarts the ROM. Sometimes you have to restart them....

I once attempted to navigate the halls of pinball emulation/simulation and failed miserably as well. I couldn't really figure any of it out. Maybe I just wasn't trying hard enough, but it seemed pretty darn complicated.

Howie has something on his Lazarus-site to help with VisualPinball -vplauncher or something similar.
With this, you can run it via commandline like in MAME without these problems. It works! :)

Thanks for the head up Carsten Carlos. I might check that out sometime. Probably not soon though, as simulating pinball has become less of a priority since I got a real pinball machine!

One day I must have a real pinball too - or build one myself! :D
Better not - building my cab was expensive enough, I'm sure even a real one would be less expensive!
(Though it must be a cool one -like Addams Family or one of those featuring Elvira?)
