Hi,
First of all, this place rocks. This is my first mame project, and I'll be posting pics when I'm totally done, but I couldn't have done any of it without arcadecontrols.com. THanks to all who take time to share and post.
I'm having a helluva time getting my frontend to find my roms. When I use mamewah 1.62 it won't find any roms at all. Just for kicks, I tried mamewah 0.97, and it finds them all! So does mame32. I would just use the mamewah 0.97, but it always runs mame pretty blurry on my monitor. However, when running games straight from cmd.exe, the games run perfectly, no blur at all. So I guess I have two questions:
1/ if all cfg. files (for mame, for mamewah, config, and emu) point to my c:\mame\roms as the roms location, why won't 1.62 find them when 0.97 and mame32 will find them no problem?
2/ is there a way to get 0.97 to run games exactly like they run from the cmd.exe, without blur (assuming that is an effect of some sort)?
Pulling my hair out, and with gracious thanks to any and all advice, :notworthy:

You might try grabbing the latest version, v1.62b13a - with all the changes in xml, perhaps you need this version so it will work properly. you didn't mention what version of Mame you are using this with. Also, did you post this on Mameworld? They will have more Mamewah users, or may even have an answer already in their forum. Check out the link:

Also, check out the help files here:

Sorry - I'm an AtomicFE user, but hopefully these links will help point you in the right direction...

When I was beginning my project, mamewah was the way I was going to go, but I recently changed over to Mala. My main reason was to use the led-wiz.
I know a bit about Mamewah and how difficult it can be to configure everything correctly. If you are fine with editing the ini files then go for it, but mala does just about everything mamewah can do with an easier setup. You just point it to the correct folders and go.
I am not knocking mamewah cause it has some features I would prefer like the many pre and post app commands, but I found mala easier to setup and run.

I'm having a similar problem. I don't have my version numbers handy since I'm at work, but I believe I'm using the latest version of Mamewah. I downloaded it a week or so ago.
I can get it to find all my MAME roms just fine, but it won't find my SNES roms. I created an empty folder called zsnes, then booted up Mamewah. It sees that I'm adding a new emu and creates all the files I need inside that folder. I modified the ini file to give it the roms path, the executable path and the file extension, but when I try to make the game list it doesn't find any.
