Title: Another PC Lightgun
Post by: BobA on June 11, 2007, 07:16:12 pm
Here is a link to another PC lightgun.   The gun looks familiar but the connector does not have a box attached. Just 6.75 US min order 10.

I wonder what the shipping from China would be, even if it was $80 for all 10 guns, that would be less than $15 a gun, maybe we should think about a group buy?  Worst case the gun sucks and we're each out about $20, but with OK guns costing 5 times that it seems worth the risk.

A group buy would be interesting but would have to be US based.  No sense crossing borders when you do not have to.  I am in Canada and that would be problematic.

If they all got shipped to one location in the US how much more would it cost to send one up to you?  It seems like I see people asking for US products to get sent up to Canada frequently, maybe the buy is based on the price per unit + shipping to one location + actual shipping to each person from that one location.  I don't know if I would even take part, I really want a light gun since so many of the games I enjoyed were shooters, but sometimes it seems like their are no funds available for fun.  I just thought the idea might spark some interest in others and we could maybe give it a go if there was enough interest.

What I meant was it should be someone in the US as most people who are interested would probably be there.  Shipping one or two to Canada from the US is not bad but shipping most of them to the US from Canada is just extra cost.

I'd be interested in a group buy as well. I'm off to Google, to see if I can find any more info...

At that price, it is worth a gamble. I'd be in for one.

anybody here do importing for their business?  I've ordered stuff through ebay from china before but not anything that would be considered a retail sales item, recieved some 7color Leds no problem.  Would that have an import tax due on it?  That would also affect the final cost.

I used to get console lasers from them in bulk there is like a 70 dollar import fee and they only accept payment by bank transfer and it is like another $35.00 or something it has been awhile so I am sure it cost more but there was a around a $100.00 or so but I do remeber an extra 2-3 extra fee's on top of the actual price.

Keep us posted RovingMind.  It would be a shame if there are too many extra fees.  If the price per gun breaks down to less than $35 I'd probably be interested, but more than that and you might as well bite the bullet and get one that is more well known.

Count me in if you get anything that is a usable price from them.   Anything in the 30 to 40 dollar range maxwith all the charges.

It's actually cheaper to get this stuff in smaller quantities.  There is a clause where that "gifts" are not taxed.  Most Japanese ebayer's play ball and send you your stuff as a gift, thus bypassing tariffs.  Got my bluetooth dongle for like 8 bucks, shipping included, that way.

Let us know though.

Agreed, and interested for under 35.

Did anyone find a review on this?

All I could find were links similar to the one posted. Judging from the photos provided, it appears (at least externally) to be i direct knock-off of the Act-Labs gun. If I do find anything substantial, I'll definitely report back.

Review or not, I'll take a gamble for $35 or so.

Looking over the information supplied by the seller they seem to be just like the ACT LABS guns.  In other words they will more than likely not work with LCD or TFT screens.  This seller also is listed on numerous trade websites selling XBox, PS, PC & Nintendo controllers.  However they don't have this light gun listed on their website (http://www.keentop.cn/).

Act Labs has to get their guns made somewhere.  My guess is that it is off shore. Quite a coincidence eh.

Will these work with Arcade Monitors or only PC monitors?

I am interested in a group buy as well if anyone is taking names...

I would assume they would be around $30.00 each and that would include getting them shipped to your home but they all would need to come bundled to someone's place here in the states and then ship them to the others who ordered them they usually take a week sometimes 2 to geta  response that was one of the flaws with them is getting a decent response time.

It reminded me of the PC Virtual Lightgun. Looking at the retroblast review (http://www.retroblast.com/reviews/lightgun4.html) it looks like the VGA pass through is similar.

they will get back to you but it takes awhile they also dont speak or type english very well but more then likely you will here back from kim maybe they need translators at hand and that is why it takes a bit I dunnoi but there slow as stated above the shipping time from there to the states is not bad but the communication is very slow in response from them.

I would probably be intrested in grabbing 1-2 myself when it comes to a head for sure.

I think somewhere there's instructions on how to use it with a computer monitor and an arcade monitor.

If anyone is getting this together, I'm in for 2.  I'm in US also.  Has anyone ever heard back from this company?

As a newb in here, if a place needs to be found to ship them to redistribute, I'll step up...

Here is a different website you can order from .www.game2gate.com (http://www.game2gate.com/Prclass.asp?Id=80&page=2)

I think this is the company that makes the light gun ?

I added one to a cart and began the checkout process to see if I could find shipping prices, but I am hesitant to put any of my card information on a site with such stellar English skills.  Seeing as I only speak English I respect anybody else's ability to speak a second language, but it seems to me that a company trying to sell to English speaking customers may try to have better use of English on their site, if that's asking too much then maybe it's also asking too much to receive orders in less than a year, new, or in one piece.  If it's searioulsy only $7 I may put some money on one of those prepaid visa gift cards and use that, if I get totally hosed it's only a couple bucks, but if it works then I have a light gun for only a couple bucks. ;D

I'm only guessing of course, but I bet it will if your arcade monitor has separate H and V sync (ie not composite sync).  Retroblast got the act labs PC lightguns working with the Betson multisync and these look like the same thing.

It's too bad these aren't available somewhere more reputable.  I really miss my act labs TV out light guns since I got an arcade monitor.  If someone is brave enough to order one let us know how it works out.

I filled out the form, choosing Paypal as payment method.  You never actually submit any real payment info, they say they'll contact you to finish the transaction.  I figure no harm, no foul.  They have nothing to use to get any $$$ from me unless I give them more info.  IF however they do contact me with a reasonable $$ for shipping, I may risk it and paypal them the money and see what happens.

Oh, this was from www.game2gate.com, not the initial web page....

The guns that i showed, if your video card has component out on it, you just plug into the green rca jack and it'll work - of course you'd need a 2 female to 1 male rca splitter, but it'll work.  or even if it just has video rca out you could use one of those.
