Title: Anyone tried using a WiiMote as a light gun in MAME yet?
Post by: AndyWarne on April 29, 2007, 05:45:01 am
The WiiMote can be used with a PC as a mouse, using a Bluetooth dongle and GlovePIE software from www.wiiprojects.org.
Then theres the gun adaptor shell from Piranha and third party Sensor Bar (misnomer as its really just a bunch of LEDs).
Could be a really cool gun.

I haven't tried it yet, but I can if you want me to ( I can make a youtube video or something) I will. I don't have the third party shell, though.

I've been doing some really cool things with the wiimote lately. I tried the WIi Drum Machine, then 'Wiitar' (Frets on Fire), and, most recently, Halo. Also played SSB and other emulated games, but surprisingly not on MAME (I dunno why). I'm thinking of writing a Flight Simulator script sometime, too...

Also, can you provide a link to the third party shell? I hadn't heard of it before this post.

I looked around for it, and people are saying its really hard to find. I think there's an article about it on ign.

I'd be interested as well to see how well it worked in Mame.  I've heard mixed things
