Title: Help replacing OS
Post by: mpm32 on April 15, 2003, 02:26:07 pm
I'm trying to replace the old NT OS on a pc I have to Win 98.

To get to Win 98 I have a Win 95 OS disc and a Win 98 upgrade disc.  I know how to reimage by booting from the CD drive but, the Win 95 disc won't go into set-up from the CD.  I think I need a Win 95 boot disc but,  how can I make one if I don't have Win 95 installed anywhere?

Any suggestions on getting this done with what I have?  I am so much better at the mechanical side of this hobby (obsession) than at the software.  Any help is much appreciated.

Boot from the 98 disk. You should be able to install directly from the 98 disk and it will prompt you during the install for the 95 disk to verify that you can upgrade.
