My search results here ended up in a "no-answer" when it comes to sucessfully hacking a PS2 dualshock for making your own Joystick.
I found this site and it looks pretty easy (as does everything until you try, right?) ;)
Click here for DUALSHOCK 2 Hack (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jdpyle1/controls_playstation.htm)

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and maybe share your experiences and/or oppinion?
I'm planning to do this (eventhough I must confess I never soldered anything in my live) :P
The reason for me is that I want a joystick that is PS2, Xbox and USB adaptable and as far as I know the Dualshock 2 is the only controller that is able to do this. (Beeing easier to hack also..?)

I want to make a joystick using arcade parts (Competition Joystick & buttons) with the original (arcade) Mortal Kombat button layout for use in MAME mostly.
Beeing a big MK fan I don't want to be restricted in playing my (future) joystick only on the PC.
I'm planning on buying a 3-in-1 adapter for the PS2 wich makes it possible to play a Dualshock 2 on a PC , GameCube and on the Xbox.
The 'Hack' is meant to hotwire the PS2 Dualschock 2 so you can connect the arcade joystick & buttons to it. 8)
Anyone knows if this is possible and or hard to do ?

My prototype should go out some time this coming week (I've been swamped recently with all manner of things).
