Been a while since I was around these parts (although my account was still alive thankfully). Started my CAB, what 3 years ago - between having more kids and work, its never been finished off - but now things have settled down and I am onto it.
When I originally built my cab from scratch I put a monitor shelf into it, as I knew untill I could afford a better monitor, I would be using a 19" PC monitor. All good and well.
Now I have bought a WG9400 (yep, have read all the WG problem threads - but we are not exactly spoilt for choice here in Australia, and I was keen to source from a local dealer), and am just wondering if its possible to mount one of these beasts upon a shelf. Has anyone done it, or with a 9200 or similar monitor. I did search but didn't come up with much ?
From looking inside the box (I won't get a chance to get it out till the weekend - looks like a two man lift) it would appear optimal (or normal) to mount it using the upper and lower vertical mounting brackets, that protrude above and below the monitor, at the front of the monitor. Unfortunately, my shelf comes way to far forward at the moment, for me to have any chance of using the lower vertical mounting bracket, so either:
(a) I adjust the shelf (and the framework underneath it), so as to use the lower mounting bracket (Aswell as the upper, which will be fine). Do-able but a right pain.
(b) I remove (if possible ?) the bottom vertical mounting bracket, so the monitor can then sit on the shelf and then somehow secure it.
If option (b) is possible, then securing:
(1) I could still use the upper vertical mounting bracket. throw some wood across the width of the cab, and bolt it to that. Would that be enough ?
(2) Are there any mounting holes on the bottom of the frame ? With it still in the box, I couldn't see any.
Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated. I am so keen to get this baby finished off now.
Cheers

Is your shelf low enough for the monitor to fit above it ? You could add a piece of angle iron on the shelf for the bottom monitor bracket to mount to, then you would only have to worry about securing the top. Maybe some short brackets, bolted through cabinet sides to top monitor holes. Good luck ! flash.

I did some measuring last night, and yes the shelf is low enough. In fact I dunno what I was thinking originally (when I built this thing), the monitor definately needs to be higher than the current shelf.
So your suggestion - is exactly what I am going to do.
