*^%$ I just cut myself routing my cp. I had to use something that looked like a paint scraper to do it, and it slipped. luckly, it doesn't look like i need stiches.

I scraped up my hand pretty bad doing the "rough cuts" on my laminate. I was cutting it with a pair of large tin snips and the sharp edges of the laminate did a number on my hand as they rubbed against it during cutting. I'd definitley recommend a good pair of leather gloves when doing any laminating ( or general wood working, for that matter).

I was drilling a piece of plexi with a 3/8" bit, holding the material in my hand cuz I was just "widening" a hole. Went a little deep and put a gouge in the webbing between my fingers. Ouch

I pulled a major bonehead maneuver once while building my first cab prototype.
I had a very sharp spiral bit stuck in the collet of my router (CNC router table ;D ) So stupid me, I grab ahold of it with my bare fingers and try to pull it out of the collet. The bit didn't budge, but my thumb slid down the whole length of the sharp edge.
Didn't get stitches, but I probably should have ::). The worst part about it was that I was leaving on a family vacation the next morning. I felt like I spent half the time changing bandages.
Live and learn.

Oh yeah, I have. I had my monitor ( which had the casing removed )
hit me on the head when it slipped on the rotating harness I had made. All the solder contacts etc made small cuts on the top of my bald head. Boy was that fun. ;) Be careful out there!!

I wont lie..I hurt myself several times ! :-[
Mostly while working with laminate and plywood.
Worse was I hammer my finger onces..wasn't funny at all ! :-[
And I cut myself while scoring plexi glass too.
However nothing serious ever. You know like say...chop off finger or somethin.. :P.
Update(LOL !)
04.28.02
ouch Cut me myself atleast 3 times working with laminate !

Nopes :) Never hurted myself yet doing anything on my cab! But who knows, it might come some day :D

I did a number on my big toe
(http://mywebpages.comcast.net/thomas3120/T's%20Arcade%20Cabinet/T's%20Arcade%20Cabinet_files/bigtoe.jpg)
hehe just joking ;D
So far no injuries *knock on wood* ;)

My cabinet fell over on me ;)

I disassembled my cab to move house. At my new place I put it on its side to put it back together. I needed to get "just one more screw" in the underside of the TV shelf and crawled in and round, and got a little stuck...
After a lot of wriggling I did get out, a new spin on Charlie Brown and his kite eating tree - a builder eating cab!
Oh the humility!!
-
Jesus!
Do you think we need to declare this as a lethal hobby on our insurance forms?
LOL
-
safety first.
I didn;t hurt myself, goggles, mask while cutting mdf, etc...
-
yeah seriously - safety first. eye protection, no loose clothes, light beer, etc. It doesn't take much to rip a finger off with a table saw or gouge a leg with a router.
-
Well, when it came time to cut out the holes for my CP. I didn't have a drill press and I had a whole bunch of 12 guage slugs for my shotgun and the kitty was sleeping unbeknownst to me inside the cab and well......
:o

I got part of my pec pinched between the monitor frame and the cab while building a special slideing mount for my cab.
hurt like hell, had to get somebody to unlock the monitor stand so I could get it out.
took months to heal and left a nasty scar.
(kinda looks like a bullet hole)
ahhhh.... memories!
-
I chopped my arm off.....
Didn't hurt, it's only a flesh wound!

that part of your pectoral muscle is called a "nipple" it's supposed to look like that =P
heh just kidding.. that sounds really frightening... your cabinet tried to eat you!

:-[
My cab "punched" me as I was carrying it up a flight of stairs with a friend. I ended up with a brused cheek for a couple of days.
I fought back though and turned my ugly ducking (and obviously pissed off) cab into my MAME swan.
Ahhh....another happy maming moment.

Does the "bite" out of my wallet count? If not I have dropped part of a sheet of MDF on my toe and it actually broke the bone.

While working with my laminate CP, I made the smart move of not sanding the edges of any of the parts I was resting my arm on, so I slid the bottom of my wrist over one of them, bled for a bit, then did it on the other wrist, hah, it was a really sharp and clean cut though so it healed really fast. I've had plenty of things fall on me, nothing breaking anything, but hitting my head on my CP when getting up quick SUCKS!
Lots of burns from soldering as well.

ha.. i've had quite a few stuk my head in the coin door and banged it on the way out/up...
I got cut on the sheet metal of my PC case and on the metal corner of my monitor (a good gouge too... took forever to heal)
*shrug*

I was bending over to insert a coin and poked both of my eyes out on my Wico ball-top robotron setup. Luckily the balls on top of the sticks came off their shafts when I stood up so most people don't even notice.
-
I'm pretty careful around power tools... safety goggles, etc.
However, I was working in the garage on a hot summer night with open toed shoes and went to move the cabinet that was laying on it's side (sanding, etc.) As I lifted the cabinet, the bottom edge caught my big toenail on my right foot. As I wrenched the cabinet off the floor, it bent my toenail backwards. I hopped around the garage for a couple of minutes before I even looked at my toe. I was sure I had ripped my toenail off.
Minor injury, but major pain (literally)

not working on a cab, but i got a nasty electric shock;
about 5 years ago i was working on the computer (music essay for school) and needed to plug the printer in, so i crawled under the desk to get to the socket, but it was a dodgy plug (for those of you not in the uk, we have 3 pins on or plugs, 2 of which should be half covered in plastic (nearest the plug) so you can't touch them while plugging in - this one didn't, and was quite a small plug)
anywho, i don't remember anything after crawling under the desk - my parents said they heard a bang (which could of been my head hitting the underside of the desk) - they came into the room to find me spazzing out
next thing i remember was coming round in the kitchen, feeling really spaced out, with my dad trying to stop me from falling over.
ambulance came, and i spent the night in hospital, felt really sick and shaky (wanted to barf)
but i havn't had a headache since!
-
Huh, 30 years living in the UK and I never noticed those insulated bits on plugs...
Man, I 've got to start paying more attention...
