Title: FE recommendation?
Post by: Ghoul on April 12, 2003, 07:15:16 pm
I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion of what FE to use. I know that in the end it will come down to personal preference but I figured if I gave my main desires that you guys could point me in the right direction instead of spending tons of time sorting through and installing a bunch of FEs that I don't want. Here's my info and criteria:

I have a 27" s-video tv, computer is running windows xp. I don't want to have to run dos, I am staying with windows for other games. I have joysticks and a 6button SF layout as well as a trackball for navigation.

MAME is really the only emulator I see myself running at the present time, so support for other emulators is nice but not really necessary. Any other games I play will probably be stand-alone PC games like golden tee and nfl blitz.

I want to be able to make multiple favorites lists. Ease of use is important, because I don't want to spend a ton of time setting this thing up other than creating my favorites folders, and I want other people to be able to play it fairly easily. Tons of options like advancemame has are frivilous to me because my setup is so simple.

I will probably set the FE to automatically start up when windows boots.

I'm a little biased, but you might want to check out EmuTron at  www.pacmanfan.com (http://www.pacmanfan.com), It's got a lot of good features. Also, a lot of people like Lazarus and Emulaxian
