Title: Scrap MDF, laminate & T-molding equal...
Post by: somunny on April 05, 2007, 02:35:03 pm
I'm somewhat of a pack-rat when it comes to materials and refuse to throw out the smallest scraps, telling myself "I may need that later".  My son has been sitting on a milk crate since I finished his 3/4 scale machine and because I couldn't find a suitable stool or chair for him, I decided to build one myself.

All from scrap materials (except the black t-molding which was bought for a separate project) and a couple of days work.  It's not perfect as I pretty much made it up as I went along but I think it came out ok.

Very very nice!!  :applaud:

I too was planning to use a crate for my daughter to stand on while playing her mini cabinet... now it looks like you've raised the bar!

Or at least the seat.  :laugh2:  Nice job there.  I like the T-Molding in the holes and it is a perfect match to the cab.

From a fellow pack-rat...... Great job! I really like the stool and the colors go great together.

Do you have any close ups of the CP?

Good job Somunny!  The "stool" idea is great...  :applaud:

I'm a bit a pack-rat too, but from time to time, I decide to do a big clean up.
(And usually a few days after, I realize that I could use something I threw away...)

Way to use the scrap my man!  I love it when you can find a use out of the old stuff you bought.  I always buy in bulk because I feel like I will be able to use the stuff later, but it always just ends up piling up.  Excellent!

Looks great!  Is there storage inside?  What do the holes lead to?

Thanks!  Sadly, there is no storage inside.  I actually did consider this but to make it happen I would have had to buy some hinges.  ;)

What do the holes lead to?

Another dimension, maybe?  ;D

Wow, this looks awesome!  Great job.  Now all I need is some kids so I have an excuse to do one like this.  ;D

Awesome job! I like how it's not just a plain stool.

I hoard materials too...
I like the shape on it. Excellent job.
