Ok - several of you know why I'm currently out of work, so I'm not going to start there. This all got started this morning at 1:30 AM. Couldn't sleep, so I got up to check the "on line" want ads. Nothing there. So, I went and checked the website of a school that I've been interested in for the last 2 - 3 years.
To my wonderous surprise, they had not one but four positions that I am capable of handling: middle school Math (certified), MS Music (3 1/2 years experience), JV Volleyball coach (2 years experience, 1 championship), and Lower school (grades 1- 5 - I am certified grades 4-8). How quickly do you think I got a cover letter out to them? That's right, as soon as I saw these - at 2:30 AM! I'm surprised any of it made sense!
This is unusual in that they have always had positions open but nothing I was qualified to teach...until this year. My interview is at 11 AM Monday morning; they wanted to get me in before one of the principals goes out of town on Tuesday.
This has been a whirlwind of a day; please keep myself and my family in your thoughts if you will. No, it's not the end of the world if this doesn't work, something else will come along...but with the JV Volleyball, my job would start in July....the exact point the severance pay from the previous school ends. With Mommy out of work and home schooling our 4 year old, this would be perfect.
Thanks ahead of time for the many thoughts that have come our way during this trivial yet trying time in the life of my family. As always, I will keep you posted!

Things usually work out better for me when I don't have time to prep.
I hope it's the same for you.
Good luck!

I've always found for the best job you have to be in the right place at the right time and it happens fast.

Swing for the fences (sorry, no Volleyball cliches I could think of working in :P).
Best of luck.

Well, while I don't know if I aced it, things went very well. They told me I would hear from them soon as they knew exactly what they needed for next year. A small positive, but a positive at least!
