Title: Sanyo 20EZ Tube / G07 Chassis

I was wondering,  is the tube from a Sanyo 20EZ compatible with an Electrohome G07 chassis and vise versa?

...no love?   Does anyone know?  I am considering my options with this cabinet and one of the options would require that I get an inverter board for the Sanyo.   I have a perfectly working freshly recapped G07 chassis sitting here and it if it were compatible,  I'd just drop that in the Sanyo 20EZ's place....IF I decided to go this route.

I don't know off the top of my head whether they would work.

You would have to measure the yoke resistances to see if it's compatible.  If they're about the same, it should work.  Don't know if the inverted video from nintendo means the tube's of a different type than the Electrohome tube, even if the yoke resistances are the same.

I used to have a link to tube resistance readings and compatibility, but an't find it now.

I'm sure Ken will be along soon to say, "No, it won't work.  The yoke resistances on the Sanyo tubes are different than the Electrohome tubes."

They are both "high impedance" yokes and both tubes use B&K rejuvenator adapter CR23 to test them.

However.......the Electrohome chassis has a weird pinout for the yoke connector on it's chassis. It's wired totally ass-backwards from everyone else.

Would I be able to use the yoke from the G07 tube on the Sanyo or would it be wiser to find the determine the yoke pinout from each and then re-wire the Sanyo yoke?   I've replaced a yoke once already and could do it again,  but i'd rather not dink around with the purity rings, etc...the tube I replaced a yoke on still doesn't have PERFECT convergence.

It will show the connector differences in the Electrohome yoke connector. Then you could rewire the Nintendo yoke to plug into the Electrohome chassis. It should work.

AH!  After looking at the link I realized it is the same Eygo docs I use with my "PowerMax" chassis.  I actually have a converter I made sitting around...NICE.

I didn't realize the Sanyo chassis had the same pinout as the Eygo...

...but WAIT...I'm going to have to make a converter in reverse since I want to use the G07 chassis with a non-G07 yoke as opposed to using a non-G07 chassis with a G07 yoke.  Shouldn't bee too hard.

Actually the 3 gig hard drive in my vintage 1998 "Umax" laptop is full and the modem connector in the PCMCIA modem is going bad. And I have WinBlows 98.

Well Hell...lets take up a collection and at least get you a new LARGER HD for that laptop!  I'd be more than willing to kick in the first $20... ANYONE ELSE?!?
