Title: Narrow LCD (Moving the power box away from the screen)
Post by: wrooster on February 26, 2007, 12:18:57 pm
I'm having space issues in my jukebox project, and I need to cut a LCD down in depth. The only way is to move the box off the back of the lcd to a new, more remote, location. Has anyone done this with any success?

This link helps to show what I need to do. My power supply is in a similar location, and I need to pull it to the right hand side of the monitor. and change the horizontal mount to vertical. I can acomplish this by lengthing the backlight wires. If I get the same gage wires, shouldn't this be as easy as soldering the extensions in?

havent read the link you provided but if you are lengthening the backlight leads make sure you use silicone insulated wire (the same as the original wire) and insulate your joints very heavily.
