Title: Line in to PC 1 over LAN to PC 2 Line out - any ideas?
Post by: garyh on February 24, 2007, 02:46:45 pm
Basically an audio sender but using two wireless PCs. I could use Skype but I need much better audio quality for music in a remore room to the main system at a party. Trying to avoid spending any money for a one-off requirement.

Any ideas welcome

Gary

You can use the same wirless transmitters you would for an mp3 player. They are picked up by an FM radio so you would have to either put a radio card in the recieving pc or hook a small FM radio up to the line in. They are stereo and pretty good quality over short distances.

There will be delays with anything like shoutcast, so ruling that out for this purpose.

Just go buy a 2.4ghz video sender from somewhere with a liberal return policy..

There is a program called MPCstar that is made for video streaming but will handle audio of course.  The program also operates as a streaming server.   Not sure what you want to accomplish but it is free at Wrong

My Bad.  The program is VLC Media Player not MPCstar.... Got the wrong program.
