Title: associating pictures to roms
Post by: bsellers100 on April 05, 2003, 12:22:37 pm
is there a program out there that will let me associate snapshots with roms and then rename the snapshot to the rom name so that most frontends will associate the two together?

well, the other post doesn't answer the question.  There is a renaming utility in a front end called Player Up in which you associate a rom file and a picture file and then it can rename the picture files to match the  rom file name.  Only problem is, I can not get it to work.  If someone can get it to work, you could quite literaly associate 500 roms and snaps in about 10 minutes and then rename them to match.  Any help here would be appreciated.

Well here in lies the problem.... At least one person has to associate them all manually first.... Then you take note of the crc's for each and make two dat files, one for the artwork and one for the roms themselves.  Then you cross reference the two dats and make a third dat that says (rom crc xxx=aw crc xyz) or soemthing to that degree.  Then it becomes extremely easy to do a crc check comparison.
