I have a Sunset Riders cabinet, that contains no start button. I recently purchased a WWF Wrestlefest Jamma which requires a start button, what is the best way to get around this if any?
-
If you don't want to add a button to the control panel, you could add a hidden button inside the coin door, inside the coin return, or wire a switch behind the "push to reject" button on the coin door.

I'm glad you knew what Franchise5 meant Kremmit. The only "start" button I can think of is the 1P/2P button.
-
Do I need to simply wire something from the 52 pin and wire it into a button of some sort that I would put on the door?

Yeah, there are cabs that start each player just by inserting a coin in the appropriate coin slot. (no 1P or 2P start buttons, etc) My Captain America was this way for four players, each coin slot represented a particular character to start.

Look at the JAMMA pinout and you will see where 17 = 1P start and U = 2P start.
Add a pin and wire there if there isn't already one.
Then use any button you want to mount wherever you want.
The other side of the button just goes to ground like all the rest.

Player 3 and 4 start will go directly to another connector on the game pcb along with the player three and four controls. CN2 for player 3 on pin 8, CN3 for player 4 on pin 8.
Same thing, other side goes to ground.
Check the manual and see if it shows the pinout for those.

Can I buy a pin and wire at store such as RadioShack?
Or is there a specific name that I need to look for?
-
The man for small parts like that is The Real Bob Roberts. Google the whole name, you'll find him.
But you might want to check and see if you even need the pin; often they're already in the connector, just not hooked up to anything. If you don't know what you're looking for, get a picture of your JAMMA connector and someobdy will probably point it out to you.

Get one of the player 3 and four connector as well........because those will be different from the JAMMA harness.
