Does Space Invaders Part II have a color test pattern or is my board gone. I'm new and haven't seen many problems with games so i need to ask. It seems like this is stuck in a test mode. nothing changes. It's probably bad, but all the ones i have seen usually show garbage of some sort not just a color test pattern. Curious if there is something i can look into.

Did you flip a switch on it somewhere?
Do you have a manual to consult?

Thanks Peale,
No i didn't flip a switch or anything. I got it non-working, the power supply wasn't putting out the 12v. it wasn't displaying anything. at suggestion of someone else i put in a Peter Chou and got all the voltages correct. It now just displays the color bars. I looked all over and referred to the manual i do have for all the DIP settings but other than than i am at a loss.
The manual i have has a schematic where i got the placement of all the voltages from. It doesn't have much else info for me.
Jay
there is one wire coming from the old power supply (Pin 1) that the manuals schematic doesn't label it. It shows it but doesn't tell me what it is. I'm looking online now to see if there is a better diagram.

not saying this is the fault you have but older boards sometimes gave a colour bar screen when the coin switch was permenantly made either by a coin jam or i/c error

Thanks for the response.
that's the kind of thing it seems to be.I'll have to dig deeper into it. Like it is stuck in this mode for whatever reason.
just at a loss what to look for other than obvious stuff, I'm still learning.

I bought a dead SI 2 cocktail board a few years back. All it displayed were alternating black and red bars, sometimes you could hear the UFO sound in the background. Turned out the processor was faulty on mine.
YMMV.
