I have a 27' insignia TV with DVI to comp dongle hooked to an ATI x550, Picture is great however there is a 1 inch black boarder around the screen when I have 680 432i resolution. What is the reason for this? Do I have to go into the Service menu to fix this? I hope not, thats something I don not want to mess with.

How are you setting the resolution to begin with? You may need to tweak that video mode using powerstrip or xvidtune.

I use 680 432 30hz interlaced, I have gotten into the service menu of the TV and got the Vertical hieght of the screen perfect, just he horizontal needs to be adjusted now. I have been getting support from other BYoAc'ers and it is just a matter of working with the settings in the service menu........we shall see how that works out, worst case I just deal with losing two inches on the sides, othwise it looks and plays great..

Shouldn't it be 640x432? Thats the size I use with no border.
