Title: 8liner 25 inch Chassis
Post by: mckay24 on December 14, 2006, 09:03:08 am
Hi, wonderful board,...........learned plenty from you guys.

I bought 3 329-25 chassis from atlas and 2 of them worked great!,........but one is not,.........i hear a flyback whine,.......and there is 165 volts on b+,........... but it fails to charge up the tube nor do I see a glow in the neck of tube,.......... no the tubes prob, because i was able to get it working with the other chassis.

I live in Canada,......would prefer any help on trying to fix it first before sending back as they were quick to suggest for me,......... any suggestions?

Thanks Jim

Since it's brand new and under warranty, I'd send it back for repair or exchange.

OK,...thanx

From where I am the cost of shipping almost is more than the value of this chassis and return shipping.

Was just trying to avoid that,..........but maybe if I were to purchase more, it might make it more reasonable.

Check to make sure you didn't bend a pin on the neck when you were putting the neckboard on.  I've done that more times than I want to admit and thought a chassis was bad.

Hi,

Yeah I did try it on three different tubes,...........plus the tubes I did try it on,........the other two chassis worked fine on them.

I must have spent hours checking continuity on the traces from the flyback,....... and checking solders,............just bad luck I guess,.....bad component somewhere I believe.

Thank You
