Just thought i'd 'show off' my Pacman room. I've been doing alot of work in there as of late, and with my recent Baby Pacman aquisition, the room looks pretty good.
-
Pacific!
-
:notworthy: The stools even match the cabs. Each machine looks new, did you restore them? :o
-
Wowwwwwwwwwww :dizzy: that is a great room, i love the stools
i never played on the last cab on the right...how it is ?
it look like the Pac-Man cafe in Orlando FL ;D (sadly closed) :-[
once again GREAT WORK
-
Much better than your previous post, My Chiller Room. Yikes.
-
You're a real PacMan freak!
-
I freaking hate you. About how much did you spend on this?
-
I highly approve. I've always appreciated collections focused on one particular theme. I'm actually kind of envious of that (the focus).
-
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have the advantage of not being married; therefore, I can turn the extra bedrooms in my house to whatever i feel like :)
Kaytrim--I have done some restoration work on each of my cabs. New overlays, T-molding and new buttons at least. Touched up the paint on all of them too. Then i used the left over paint to make those stools. The cabs do look nice, but up close, there are definately some flaws.
Arcadefever--The game on the end is the Baby Pacman. I just got it last week. It's a pretty fun game, but I think unless you were really into pacman, you might find it boring. I know alot of people don't like it. It's half video half pinball, so it's pretty neat in that sense. I personally enjoy it. I never knew they had a pacman cafe, that would have been neat to see.
DeadKennedys--Well, of course the most expensive parts of the room were the cabs....other than that, i'd say i spent maybe $500.00 total on all the memorabilia. I had some of it left over from when i was a kid. And the rest I bought off of ebay at decent prices. A couple items I got from people on this board, which they gave me good deals on. It took me a good 3 plus years to amass what's in the room now.
I just need to find a Pac Jr. now, and maybe the Mr/Mrs Pacman Pinball, then i'd be all set, although i couldn't fit both of those in that room. Also, i'm always looking for Pacman memorabilia if anyone has any they'd like to part with at a decent price (or donate to the room, LOL).
-
You'll also need the ever elusive Professor Pac-Man. That one may set you back a good bit, but at least the Mr & Mrs Pac-Man pin is a relatively easy and inexpensive buy.
-
Yes, and the elusive Pac N Pal. Which i have seen virtually no info on, if this was ever made as a stand alone, or if it was a kit to be put into the Super Pacman. Haven't even seen a marquee for it. Saw a pic of a japanese cocktail kit one time, but it just had some stickers in it.
-
Let's not forget PacMania.
-
PacManFan has his old domain for sale.
www.pacmanfan.com (http://www.pacmanfan.com/)
The funny thing about the generic site it puts up is that there is a large photo of a Fan. Ha.
Cool room.
-
just pm you about the pac man cafe ;)
-
very awesome setup man. I just wanted to give ya a thumbs up. I just bought my first house and I take ownership of it next month so I cant wait to start my own arcade room!

That really is cool what about namco collection volume too, it has pacman arrangement. I used to play the hell out of that on my ps 2 cab. I don't like the arcade version as well. Pacman moves to slow.

Yeah, pacman arrangement is fun. I love playing the head to head 2 player pacman. I wish they would have done more with that when they were doing all the pacman sequels.

Hmmm i have a wife and two kids....... If i got rid of them that would be at least 2 rooms I could transform....... Now how to get rid of them.....

cool room! ha!
it is a cool room though...
-
Don't' get rid of them, dress them up like ghosts and then spend your day avoiding them.
-
Looks great, you can't go wrong with a Pac Man collection.
-
Nice job. Cool stools (now that doesn't sound right!) I think I have a Pac-Man Atari 2600 cartridge in the workshop... I'll be happy to donate it... if you want it that is!?
There's a Jr. Pac and 2 Pac Pinnys on Ebay at the moment as well. Also a Pac Pinny on Craigslist for $400 (in Rhode Island)..... but you're pac-man crystal ball would already know that I surmise..... :P
-
A bit of advice from someone who lives in the RI area... be veeeeeeeery careful about pins on Craigslist and some of the people who sell them there.

pacman tv tray (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Shabby-80s-Metal-Arcade-PAC-MAN-Game-TV-Tray_W0QQitemZ300087475404QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3945QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)
Saw this pop up on my local arcade search. Thought you might be interested.

Thanks for the heads up on this, Shardian, i appreciate it!

Maybe you'll be able to pick up a bunch of custom stuff when Adam Jones has to liquidate everything he owns to pay for attorney fees. :laugh2:
-
Nice work to the OP!
Here's mine. I eventually will finish all sides of the room, but the homemade real-oak bookshelves are what's the main focus of the room for now.
I also have 3x 25 gallon totes full of cloth items (caps, backpacks, sheets, towels, comfortors, sleeping bags, blankets, curtains, etc..) plus a 15 gallon tote of other rigid stuff that doesn't fit on these shelves. Oh yeah, and 2x 15 gallon totes of nothing but glass and ceramic ware ::)
-
More pics. I also have 3 Pac/Ms.Pac/Jr. Pac related arcade machines in another room.
-
Wow!! So now I know the person who is out-bidding me on all the pac-man stuff on ebay :D
Really impressive collection, i am VERY jealous! Great collection.
-
Thanks. Not to worry about me being competition--I picked up most of this on eBay from 2001 thru 2003. In fact in the last 2 years I think we've found 3 or 4 items total. The reasons were that eBay made it so costly to list and accept payments for small $ value items they never get listed anymore, plus shipping costs have almost doubled in the last 7 years (used to be $3.00 actual shipping now seems to be $4.50 base + 'handling'). Also the search for "Pac-Man" is so spammed with the namco x-in-1 joysticks, mame distribution discs, multi-arcade games, ports to other systems. That didn't happen 6 years ago. I luckily picked most of it up at the peak of popularity of selling, but starting at the trailing off of prices, but I sunk way too much into it.
I have a few more holy grails I need for the complete collection, plus I have some that others would consider very rare/wanted.
Wish I had room to display all the glassware, I have almost every unique piece of that including margarita glasses and the rarer Ms.Pac related ones. I think I also have more electronics but they're stuffed in with the other handheld games in a closet due to lack of display space.
-
Yeah, it's hard to weed through all the ebay garbage. It'd be nice if someday you could catalogue all that you have. Right now, my only guide is the "Guide to Pacman Collectables" book, the one with the red cover. And it is pretty incomplete. I don't even know what's all out there as far as pacman stuff goes. My grails right now are the Motion Lamp, the normal lamp with the pacman shade, and that tall trashcan that you have that says "love to play". If you are ever interested in selling/trading any of your doubles, let me know. I have a few things to trade, nothing too rare though.
-
I see you've got some pac man cereal, man you msut be a fan.... "now with roof-of-the-mouth cutting flavor!"
Something missing (aside from a pacman clock and neon sign) is a cocktail cab. You could put your misc pacman sequels on it, including namco classics.
-
I actually had a super pac-man cocktail for a while...but traded it away for a super pacman upright. The cocktail is probably worth a little more, but i really wanted an upright to match the rest of my games, plus the uprights take up less floorspace....i don't regret it now...i'm hoping i don't regret trading it away someday.

How many dreams have you had about being chased around a maze by ghosts?

Well I've had a few...but mine were of the life-size pacman game from Club Dread. 8)
