Title: Nashville Auction Results
Post by: fredster on November 20, 2006, 12:16:49 pm
I lost money.  It's getting hard to sell games.

I sold a Tekken 2 and a Golden Tee '98 for $140 each.

I saw a working Standup fullsize asteroids go for $325.

Arcade machines are going cheap boys.

Wow. Surprising considering Christmas is coming up. You'd think people would be a little more spendy.

Ouch!

That wasn't the case at the last St. Louis Auction I was at. More buyers than games and they were all wanting to spend some money. Bummer Fredster!

Here they have one yearly auction and anything resembling a classic goes for $400+ if it's complete.  Doesn't have to be working.  Pins go high if they even resemble working.  Hella cheap JAMMA cabs can be had, though, like $50 2 slot MVS cabs fully working with two good games in.

It isn't like it used to be.  The home buyers are making mame machines or buying the new high end retro games from pool supply or home furnishing stores with a warranty.

Sorry to hear about that, fredster.

At least it gives me excuses for buying or not selling -- "couldn't leave it there for that price" and "never make our money back on it" ...

Cheers.

It's all good!

I enjoyed them and made some money with them.
