Title: How do i setup the Hard drive for a MAME cabinet
Post by: 1942junky on October 09, 2006, 08:43:39 am
I am just about to start my first cocktail project, after alot of research, the only thing i'm not sure of is how to set the hard drive up. As far as i can tell i should be using MAME & ArcadeOS, i want to run DOS only instead of windows, i am assuming this keeps the system simpler and quicker to start up.
Any advise would be appriciated.
Thanks.

mame is program just like any other program
as far as the dos VS windows ... Thats all up to what you are used to going with.
Me... Never played with dos. so windows was best for me.

If your PC is slow use DOS and Gamelauncher

If you have a half decent PC you would be crazy not to use Windows XP and one of the latest FE's  (MaLa, Atomic. MameWah etc)
