Well, I have finally decided Paypal is ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. I've been screwed by them before and this is the last time. I finally had to file a claim after a guy decided to stop communicating AFTER he had already agreed to issue me a refund. I paid him with two separate transactions in paypal. Well, paypal flat out rejected the smaller claim due to some weird ass stipulation in their TOS even after I explained to them that it was PART OF THE PAYMENT ON THE ORDER! Next, they tell me that I "may" be entitled to a refund if I ship the stuff back to the seller and provide tracking info to paypal. Ok, so I am supposed to ship stuff back to a guy that has already stopped communicating, and hope his account has money in it? What a bunch of BULL ---smurfing--- ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---!!

I've never entirely understood the sentiment that Paypal is responsible for the deadbeat people that sometimes use its service.
If you paid the guy in cash, and he ripped you off, would you go to the treasury for a refund? They are the ones who issued you the currency with which you paid.
I'm not criticizing you specifically, really, but it's so easy to rip someone off via mail order and I don't get why Paypal is the culpable party.

If I paid a guy in cash, I most likely would have product in hand and know it is working. I also wouldn't expect a warranty, and if I did happen to get a warranty I would know where to find him to get my money or at least a piece of his ass for my troubles.
Paypal offers a service and they DO take responsibility for deadbeat sellers. This little thing called buyer/seller protection policy? Ever heard of it? It is a big piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. This time I paid with paypal fundage, so I don't have a credit card company to go to. I won't make that mistake again. I guess I might go ahead and send his ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- back and take what little bit paypal gives back. The guy is doing regular business on ebay, so I at least have a chance on getting all of it back if he carries a balance. I will pack it just as good as he did...an oversize box, and one sheet of newspaper for a delicate pcb.

Isn't the protection policy an optional, paid service? Like postal insurance?
I know Paypal has a loose "we may get you your money back" policy but people abuse the CRAP out of that to make risky mail order purchases all the time. And then blame Paypal if Paypal won't bail them out.

Paypal scares me too. It's not a bank, it's some cyber scam.
I use it, but I get my money in and out of it as fast as I can.
Ebay doesn't do much to help you if you get screwed. Neither does it's red-headed step child.

LOL. The whole banking system is a scam too. They just do it face to face.

just send the guy an empty box and provide paypal tracking information on that ;D

Well, the guy finally responded, apologized and said he was the one that authorized a refund from paypal. He seemed like a good guy, I have no idea why he would cut out for 2 weeks like he did. Either way, I will only use my cc on paypal from here on out for ebay purchases. I have no problem with using paypal funds/bank fundage amongst fellow byoac'ers, as 99.9% of you guys are great when it comes to dealing. (Please don't turn this thread into a Harpal/1.5 psp thread after that...oh who am I kidding...of course you will ;))
