Title: Control Panel Thickness?
Post by: Donkey_Kong on September 28, 2006, 10:19:43 pm
Hello,

This forum looks pretty cool! Great new category..."Woodworking", Nice  ;D Had a couple e-mails with Andy at Ultimarc...but don't want to keep buggin him for small stuff. The good 'ole woodworking forum seemed most appropriate.

Building my 1st Panel...What is the most common or best thickness for the actual control panel flat? 1/2" , 3/4" or  ???

Oh, as of now I'm planning on picking up a couple ultrastik 360's. What thickness would make mounting these optimal and easy? I Have a router...but do I have to dig it out already? I don't really want an overlay panel either. I mean come on, I'm paying $60x2 for the best controllers...I just want to drill, attach, plug, play. Can it be done nice and clean like?

Thanks all that wish to help the newb.

I did a 1/2" control panel with no plexi-eliminated the need for routing out joystick holes. Sticks work perfect for me.
