Title: Anyone using a D9200 in Australia ?
Post by: joeblade on March 20, 2003, 10:41:07 pm
Greetings all - my first post on this message board.

Gotta say, it looks like a great place to hang if building a cab. From what I have seen so far, there is a wealth of information available in the forums !

Anyway, just wondering if anyone from australia has bought a Wells Gardner monitor for a project ? If so where from, local or the US.

Just starting a project (well it actually started about a year and a half ago, but due to one thing and another it got delayed somewhat), and am in the monitor deciding phase.

My current thoughts are a d9200, or a big tv (66-68cm) with RGB in via scart (and whatever vid card supports 15khz out).

I am pretty familiar with the quality of RGB in via scart, as back in the old days of my PS1 I used to have it connected to our 68cm Grundig. Pumping good ol' RGB from the PS1 to the SCART socket on the TV. It was a pretty impressive picture, compared to component !

Ideally though, I am keen to go for a d9200 for several reasons (which I won't start going into), but assume I am going to have to import it from the US. Just wondering if anyone else has done the same ?

If so, what hidden costs, hastles etc are involved.

Cheers for any help ..

 ;)

G'Day,

I'm local in Sydney, and I've purchased a WG D9200 a few year back. I just now solwly configuring my system, which will probably take me a few more years.

You can source the monitors local, as the supplier has direct links with WG. I've got their details at work. PMl me if you need to know more.

Strewth mate .... you wouldn't be having a go at us aussies would ya !

Ah, I can take it like the best of 'em.

I always thought 'cheers' was more english though (being a pom that I am, although in Oz).

Your reply post made me think of the "crocodile hunter" bloke (steve irwin, or something like that) ... building a cab. Probably never happen, but if it did, your reply would be very appropriate !

LOL, you'll have to consider excusing me based on the fact that I'm a typical ignorant american.  Steve Irwin is the extent in its entirety of my knowledge of Australia....well maybe i'm not that dumb, but darn near.

I am not much better off myself. Most of my knowledge of the U.S comes from Seinfield and the Simpsons .... and that can't be a good thing !

Have a good one mate.
