Title: s video boot flicker help
Post by: ultravorx on September 19, 2006, 12:28:05 pm
hey guys, i have recently build my mame system but im having a problem with my video card.
i have a ati radeon 9700 pro 128 agp using the s video on an insignia 27" tv.  during the bios post and windows boot the screen just flickers and rolls.   once im in windows everything is fine, but i cant do any bios changes without a seperate monitor.  plus to others it like like its broken, lol

any ideas on how to fix the roll.   i dont want to use the dvi adapter because my light guns require s video.

any hep would be great!

Title: Using TV with s-video: screens 'rolls' until I get into windows

bump...

I'm having the exact same problem.  I have an ATI 9600 connected to my tv via s-video and the BIOS and XP startup screens 'roll' (flicker like tracking is way off).

Once the machine boots into windows however the problem is gone.  Could it have something to do with the timing of when drivers are loaded?  Is this just an s-video problem or a problem with ATI cards??

Anyone else experience this?
