I was in SF recently, and found this museum. That was the best thing I did while I was there. So fun. All these "arcade games" from quite a while ago.
Check out the Opium Den...
-
And this Addams family game that passes an increasing amount of voltage through you via those two metal posts.
[Edit] That thing can really hurt after a while, by the way. [/Edit]

The Guillotine...
-
You should submit your pics to klov.
-
Good idea.
Meanwhile, here's a video (http://geocities.com/pkurby1/MOV01700.MPG) of one of those machines.
-
what happens with the opium den and guillotine?
-
When you drop a coin the the Opium Den, a light turns on.
When you drop a coin in the Guillotine, the doors open to show a scene of a man in the guillotine -- head still attached.
There's not much to these "games", but I really enjoyed seeing them.
-
Opium Den and Guillotine are quite old... Addams Family isn't old at all.
-
I realize that. It was just another interesting game I found there. Couldn't believe that a game like that would actually exist given the inherent risk in playing it.
-
Added to klov. Awaiting approval.

It doesn't actually shock you. It just vibrates. I saw one of these when I was a kid, and was terrified to even come near it. :laugh2:

Yep. I'm an idiot.
But that did actually hurt my hands after a while.
-
I think fear hurt you more than anything else. My lawn mower makes my hands feel funny due to vibration...
-
Yeah, those Adam's Family machines can get painful after a while, but if you realize what is causing the pain, it gets easier to adjust to.
They do actually make things that will electify you a bit-go check out Spencer's. They have a handful of electric games out now, including a arm wrestling rig that shocks the loser. I tried one out, about the equivalent of licking a 9 volt battery, but on your hand.
