The fav for me will ALWAYS be the Atari 2600. So many cool memories surround that system! :'(
And you,
John in TX
p.s. - I cut things off with the NES/7800 era. Sorry, but the PS1 and later aren't quite classic. . . yet! ;)
p.p.s - and, remember - if you vote OTHER please tell us what it is!

SNES, maybe? I would still vote NES, so many sweet games.

Yeah SNES, but Tecmo Bowl........... Did it get any better back in the day!
-
I voted Atari 2600 and NES... my first two :) I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent playing Pac-Man (bad as it was) or Space Invaders. Things got way better with Star Raiders and Star Voyager....
I sold my Atari (big mistake) when the NES finally had enough games to warrant buying..... so I got it (with the Lightgun & Duckhunt/Mario cart), then started buying games as I could afford it... Metroid, Rad Racer, Ultima: Quest of the Avatar..
-
I also voted for the 2600 and the NES. Two systems that were definitely the highlight of my childhood. The games that took up most of my time besides asteroids and pacman were probably indy 500 and kaboom. The NES also brought upon many sleepless nights especially when they released gauntlet.

atari 2600 and vectrex (for other). i never owned a console but i spent many a rainy day at friends houses playing the 2600. and the vectrex, well that was just way cool (",)

Vectrex will always be #1 for me, with the Atari VCS coming in a close second.

NES ... still play it even today

Am I the only one who thought coleco was way ahead of the other consoles it compeated against? And let's not forget that it played all those 2600 games too. Wow just 2 votes.

Poor O2. No love. . .
I remember crank calling my friend using "The Voice" from Killer Bees. >:D
-
Loved the NES with the four score 4 player option. Also had 2 joysticks for the NES.
As for the other system I Liked the Sega Genesis with the Sega Cd player games. Just wished for better controls.
-
Well, I voted for Intellivision and NES due to the fact that I owned both of these during the height of their popularity. I wanted a 2600 (got one near the end of its commercial sales era) so I do not have as many fond memories with that system as the others but enjoyed it also.
-
I am Sega addicted so not so Happy to see no Sega in the vote
Ok the Atari 7800 is good also!
-
I too voted for 2600 and NES. I have fond memories of playing PacMan, Megamania, Space Invaders and Space Cavern on the 2600. Alot of that time was on a 6" B&W TV that I had the antenna rigged up to the switch box because there was no cable jack.
My XBOXs get more time playing roms from those two systems (more convenient than the real thing) than they do playing "real" XBOX games.

NES kicks some serious a**. I was born 5 yrs after it was released and I still play it to this day (on my dreamcast of course ;) )

I voted for atari 2600 me and my brother got one of these for christmas with many games.I was very young at the time probably about 5 or six my brother 10 or 11 but i could still fully play the games and i still fully remember them with fond memories. I can remember having another console with only a couple of games around about the same time i think it was given to us by family freinds but i cant even remember the name of it plus i cant remember the games either they must have been rubbish im kind of guessing it was older than the atari. I think it was a yellow colour with orange maybe on the buttons im not sure does anybody know what it might have been it was a uk version if that helps. The other one i voted for was the megadrive/genesis it holds great memories. There was even a shop opened in my town that was filled with all the games plus some mastersystem and gamegear no movies just all megadrive and sega games you could rent them out for a couple of nights/weeks for cheap. I dont think the megadrive was better than the snes and mario was better than sonic but i dont think the snes was any better either bar a couple of games. plus you could still get other good platformers like newzealand story and alex the kidd enchantedcastle or mickey mouse castle of illussion +sonic was good also + how could i nearly forget ghouls and ghosts better than super g+g in my opinion. also the shinobis were ace especially shadow dancer and supershinobi 2 . But the streets of rage series is the king of scrolling beat em ups overshadowing the poor finalfight conversion on the snes.So there i had to go for the megadrive over the snes even though i dont think its any better it just holds better memories for me. Where I grew up, the Coleco wasn't as widely available, so I never got the chance to play it.... first time I ever picked up the controller to one was when one was given to me just a short while back.... I've hooked it up once to check it and played a quick game of Donkey Kong :)
-
Yeah, you'd have had a lot more varied response if the SNES/sega master system/genesis were in there as well.
I voted for 2600 and NES, though I'd probably pick the genesis over the NES. Maybe shoulda put that vote in other after seeing your edited comment...

Poor O2. No love. . .
I have many memories of playing KC Munchkin on my friend's O2 as a kid. It was just infinitley cooler than the 2600 version of Pac-Man. I have an O2 now, as well as the multicart that has (I believe) every game for the system on it. It's a neat system and I loved it as a kid, but it wouldn't even make my top ten consoles list. The competion is just too fierce.
Am I the only one who thought coleco was way ahead of the other consoles it compeated against? And let's not forget that it played all those 2600 games too. Wow just 2 votes.
I'm a big fan of the CV. The only thing that really cripples it is that terrible controller. I built one myself (Wico leaf stick & a couple of buttons) and the system is now much more playable.

It seems to me a lot of people are not filling in the poll properly saying they would have put snes or genises instead of nes or whatever without realising that "other" is for these consoles. What a shame :'(

My other: Vectrex!!!!!
and...
NES
-
*bump*
Anyone else before it's locked?

Sega master system for my other vote
