following the advice from another byoac member, I decided to use a poster for my cp overlay since illustrator is something that I just can't get along with.
Initially used black marble contact paper from home depot (insert derogatory statements here) :censored:. Needless to say the contact paper looked like something that comes out of someones anus. so to change the hideous look of my cp I ordered a superman poster from allposters.com for 8 dollars and it made the cp look a million times better.
I think that allposters.com is offering free shipping if anyone is looking into going this route.

wow now thats a good idea and it looks good too...sure beats spending 60+ bucks to get one printed

that was one of the troubles I was having besides creating the artwork. The prices are pretty high for cp artwork especially when the cp is big.

So how did you get the poster to stay on the CP? Is it glued or do you have a piece of plexiglass holding it down?

You should put another one on the bezel. :)

I couldn't find anything wide enough for the bezel. Most posters are only 24 inches wide and the cabinet is 26 inches. I've been on the lookout for something but I think that the bezel is something that I am going to have to create for myself as well as the marquee.

I have plexiglass holding down the poster although the panel was a little sticky from removing the contact paper.

Hmmm, well, movie posters are almost all 27x40 so some superhero movie poster or maybe something in landscape format?
