Title: Question about the Nintendo VS board pinout
Post by: Masterful Gaze on August 18, 2006, 06:13:15 pm
I've been searching around the net for the Nintendo VS pinouts so I can put together a harness. Most of the places i've seen have this listed as the pinout:

Name Of Game: vs Super Mario Brothers
I assume it also works in other vs. systems:
         vs. Duck Hunt, vs. Excitabike

Notes: This is for the Single Monitor upright systems.

I don't know that I've ever actually seen it defined, but I always assumed it meant master/slave.

Main and Slave

It refers to the 2 monitors / CP's for a dual system

That applies if your board is labeled MDS...... which like they have already mentioned is a Dual Sytsem board for running two game at once on two monitors with two control panels. Two seperate locations for ROMS.

Thats what I was thinking, but at the top it says

Notes: This is for the Single Monitor upright systems.

Typo I guess?

It also says it's for Super Mario Brothers which is found on these dual system boards but only running on one bank of ROMs. You can run only one game to one monitor and control panel. You do not need to actually have both games going.

Is this the board you have? (MDS)

I have a complete .vs manual with schematics , etc, I just want make sure it's the MDS information you need. Which is what those ".vs kits" used.
