Title: Need Work Done - Requesting Gamecreature!
Post by: leapinlew on August 11, 2006, 11:51:59 am
Gamecreature,

I need some artwork done and of course I'll pay. Let me tell you what I'm thinking and then let me know what you think in a PM. Here is what I want:

Mala Theme for Mario Bros. - 800x600 Horizontal. Theme based on Mario Bros. (the original game, not the Super Mario Bros.). The colors should be bright like from the CP and Bezel. Art can be found at localarcade for this (so you don't have to recreate the wheel). Also, the theme should also have the "Press 1 player to start" graphic.

Marquee - I need a marquee for Galaxy Arcade. I'll take a picture of the Galaxy Arcade I used to play at as a kid to give you an idea of the theme. We can pull in a small amount of space related things, but I'd like to work in a bit of Diamond plate since I'm using that on the base of the cabinet. I don't need it to match perfect. It just needs to be shiny diamond plate and not rusty. My cabinet is LeapinLew:Showcase in project announcements if you want to see my color choices. The size will be 24" x 10".

Mala Theme for Galaxy
This is a 640x480 theme. I'd also like the "1p to start". Black, Blue, Spacey and Diamond Platey. Match it up to the marquee.

Whatcha think?

Ok Gamecreature - here is what I'm thinking:

You've seen the showcase... it's blue, black and chrome. So as long as the colors work in that arena.

The showcase Mala theme can match the marquee. Needs to have the screen shot, marquee, game name, and press 1p to start somewhere. It's going on a 32" television that doesn't have great resolution so think macro. This is a horizontal theme.

As for the Mario theme... You can get a picture of the Mario
Bros. Bezel from local arcade and it'll give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Something bright, colorful, 2D. Only displaying the screenshot, game names and a Press 1p to start game. This is also a horizontal theme.

Do you think you'll be using video previews? Otherwise I can have some parts of the art overlap the preview window. It's no big deal either way and I won't have a clear idea of what the Arcade theme will look like until you get me that photograph (I hope it's not too crazy-looking!)

Nagative on the video previews.

Here is a link to the Mario Bezel -
http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/details.php?image_id=516&mode=search

The main features to see here is the bright colors and characters. The cabinet will eventually have a bezel like this on it, so it should compliment the bezel without looking exactly like it. Hope that makes sense?

Take some artistic freedom with the Galaxy arcade theme. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Ok GC - here is a pic of the sign for the arcade. I hope your not expecting something that will inspire lots of creative juices...

I'm just looking to match up the font as close as you can. All I want is Galaxy arcade (I don't want people to think I'm going to serve them pizza as well)

No pizza?  :'(

Hmmm. This might be tricky. I'll see what I can find...
